Price negotiated from MSRP

I have exchanged emails with Sandi this morning. Here is the gist of what I got back from her.

"FCA discontinued new orders on the 2021 RAM Truck models on May 6th and have not yet started production on the 2022’s however, we expect that to start up here in the next few weeks. We are still waiting on an official start date. Once production does start, we anticipate delivery 14-16 weeks later. We are currently taking orders for the 2022 models and would be delighted to assist you with yours. If you would like to create what you are looking to order using the 2021 models on Build & Price a 2021 Ram 3500 | Ram (ramtrucks.com) – save it as a PDF (preferably) and email that back over to me with any additional notes, request, comments you feel are important, I will be happy to replicate it on the 2022 models and provide you with a great sale price."

So I have been working on the Ram Build&Price page and working on some builds for her to price out. Lake Charles is only about 6.5-7hrs away from us and we'll very likely fly out for the weekend, pick up the truck, hit the casinos, and drive home. Not a bad deal at all.

EDIT - I had talked to a salesman at Dave Smith and seems like the best price they were offering right now was about $1,000-1,500 under MSRP. That's their "too low to show" pricing. So, unless I just got a bad salesman, doesn't sound like Dave Smith is the bargain dealership they used to be.
I found the same thing with dave smith this spring , not willing to go more then a couple thousand off msrp so i went back to dennis dillion in caldwell and ended up almost $13k off msrp plus a awesome trade price on my 2020 i traded in !

Not really by the time you people drive or fly to Louisiana you'll be paying airfare, hotel , gas tolls and 1800 miles on your new truck. I'll stuck with 1.5 under invoice locally to save $2,000 and spend it on all the above
I didn't do 1800 miles, though I'm having a fun time figuring out what states are 1800 miles from Louisiana aside form Hawaii and Alaska, but at 950 miles - it only cost me about 400 bucks. I filled up twice, bought some snacks, and my flight was ~200 (though I used miles, so it was actually zero dollars, but that isn't a fair comparison).

I don't see how you'd realistically spend $2000 bucks. I've driven coast-to-coast cross country twice, and those trips cost me significantly less than half that each time. Shipping it would probably even be less than 2 grand.

Even if you did spend 2K though, I paid just north of 4500 less than invoice.

Definitely worth my time and effort.

Upon giving your situation some further thought I don't why they are connecting the Affiliates pricing with ordering you a truck. The Affiliates pricing only comes into play at check out time. If what they are telling is true why did my dealer not even flinch when they ordered mine. I gave them my control number.

Tomorrow when you talk to them and they stand their ground find another dealer. If I got it right you live in Joisey so there must be a number of dealers within a thirty mile radius from you ( although it might take 4 hours to get them due to the traffic) go to another one.
That is correct B307a1. Certificates aren't "redeemed" until delivery.

It's a great option for me though. Lake Charles is a whopping 395 miles from my house. Wife and I can fly out on a Friday, pick up the truck, spend some time at the casino, then drive back the whole 6 hours home enjoying the new truck.

And getting $9,000 off MSRP, no brainer.

Also 2k less financed, or about $20-30 month for life of the loan.

Affiliate Rewards told me today that they don’t know when they will add the 2022 models. If I can’t get a local dealer to at least agree to the 1% I’m going to buy a Ford and be done with it. I can get the Xplan and move on. This shouldn’t be so difficult.

Order from Mark Dodge at 5.5% under invoice, spend $1200 on shipping (they’ll help you find a carrier). Done. 4.5% on $70k is $3150. You’ll still be saving $1950.

I won’t be saving anything. I lose 2500 minimum because of the tax savings on the trade. I would drive up to 200 miles, after that it’s not worth it.

Worth checking into.... sell it to them and do an "in and out"?

I paid 6% under invoice from Mark Dodge. They delivered it to NOLA for free, and I flew there for $125 and picked it up. One night in a hotel plus fuel and I was at about $550 in expenses. Well worth two days travel back to NH for me. The 1800 miles were not a big deal.

Ordered a Ford. I got tired of games. It was a toss up. I like my 2019 Ram 2500. I liked the F-350 and the Ram 3500 about the same. I guess I have to hang up my Ram card for a bit.

You should probably get a 3500 also… to tow the Ford with. Just a thought. But in all seriousness, good luck with the new truck! Hopefully Ford has their builds figured out so you don’t have to wait long. They had a ton of trucks sitting around waiting on parts.
