Price negotiated from MSRP

thank you, email sent
Received a reply from Sandi at Mark Dodge indicating they intend to offer the same discount structure for the 2022s that they have offered for the 2021s. Once the build options are released will move to order the PW. Very professional and straight forward communication from Mark Dodge.

I had my 2014 Ram 1500 Ecodiesel appraised by Carmax back in January when I first started looking at new trucks. I just had it appraised by them again, 5 months and 4,000 miles later, and my offer increased by 20%. I'll be selling it to them tonight. Helluva time to sell a used car!

Did you do the online appraisal or go in person?

Did you do the online appraisal or go in person?
I did the online apprasial, as well as with Vroom and Carvana. Carmax was my biggest winner. I then went in, they checked the car over, and wrote me a check for that amount. No questions asked. Easiest car sale of my life.

I'd definitely check all the options you can. The prices I received varied by over 5K, on a vehicle I got 11,300 for.

I did the online appraisal and then went in and they gave it a once over. I was skeptical thinking they would give a high on-line offer and then offer less in person, but they printed out their offer that matched the online appraisal. Pretty sweet. I've emailed the dealers that contacted me after doing the KBB instant offer to see if they want to beat it.

Sigh, what a crappy day. After 4 days of literally begging a local dealer (of which they have 14 CDJR dealerships) to inquire about a 2500 Laramie diesel I was interested in, they finally followed up and said they could get it. Every time I have talked with them, I stated upfront that I have a Friends and Family Control number for pricing (1% under invoice). Well they now wanted to appraise my 19 BIgHorn 5th gen. (Pristine with 26k miles). I get to the dealership and they offer $34. I felt based on on-line appraisals we were about 2k apart) I asked what the price of the new truck was and they said "these are unusual times" and revealed that they were able to offer a 2k discount off of a 6k inflated MSRP. So 10K more than the set FFP. I got up and walked out. And headed to another dealer to discuss a 22 order and trade.
Then the literal insult to injury, 10 blocks from the other dealership an 18yo talking on her cell turns in front of me with no where for me to go. So much for my pretty unblemished truck.

thanks for letting me vent. Maybe I was just destined to order a 22 exactly the way I want......

"UPDATE

As of today Phillip Olson is no longer with Bud Clary. All current orders should be honored. I would like to thank him for all the amazing deals he provided to many of us on this forum. Philip is focusing on his other work of building houses. If you are in Washington state give him a call.

If you have been dealing with Aydin Aladinov, he is still there. I will have more details tomorrow."

Granted they are a large volume dealer...but it’d be hard to sell trucks if you don’t have any to sell. Imagine they don’t get their commission until the truck is actually delivered so it doesn’t help pay the bills to just take orders without knowing when the trucks will be coming in. All the dealerships in our area are selling their new trucks the same day they arrive and most look like used car lots now. Just unreal.

First post ever so please bear with me here gents (&ladies)

2021 limited longhorn 2500
Sticker price: $79,735

traded in a 2020 Chevy Silverado LTZ I purchased in 2020. Purchased the truck for $53k and busted my ass to pay it off in the first year. Put 24k miles on it in the first year.
Dealership gave me $57k on trade in and the longhorn was the nicest truck on the lot so why the heck not.

How’d I do?

Did you pay sticker?

I did pay sticker but got the dealership to throw in the 5 yr 100k mike bumper to bumper in for ‘free’
Well, I can't speak to buying from the lot but a lot of us are custom ordering from Mark Dodge and getting about 12% off MSRP.

You can buy the extended warranty wholesale for about $1100 from Ziegler CDJR. Not sure how much they told you that was worth.

Anyway, you have it now so try not to worry about what could have been. Just enjoy!

Sounds great! Kicker for me was making a profit on a truck I drove 24k miles.
No one was offering nearly as much trade-in wise.

The whole chip thing really helped our used values, but screwed up our deals on new ones. I would say the for a dealership purchase you got a good deal right now. Seems like most dealerships are asking over MSRP and giving nothing for it.

Anyone know a California dealer that will do invoice or below right now on a power wagon?

Could try to find a dealer that will accept the fca affiliate rewards coupon if you qualify for it. That gives you 1% below invoice
