Price negotiated from MSRP

My local dealer only wants to go 12% on a 2 year old truck.......12% off original sticker, I said no, we’re done, and walked out. They keep inching it up in price weekly.

I have been trying to convince the little woman that I need to buy a new truck. I told her that all of the cool people have big truck payments, but she isn't convinced yet.
Anyhow, what I have been searching for is a '19 or '20 regular cab 3500 4x4 SRW. The options that I want are; Tradesman level 1, chrome package, snow chief, 8.4 screen, chrome steps, bed liner, and trailer brake controller.
A pretty basic truck.
I have not been able to locate any anywhere near me. Very difficult to even find a regular cab, let alone one optioned like I want. There is a dealer clear across the country that has a couple that are very close to what I want, and they are priced at just under $39,000. I don't know how feasible it would be to get a pickup hauled from Ohio to Oregon.
Any of you guys ever buy a rig and get it shipped that far?

How do we find out what incentives are available? Truck is in, would like to know what is available before I get to the dealer.

Go to ram trucks for the national offers, scan other dealers As well, and don’t forget PenFedAuto, usaa, and Allstate. I haven’t looked for a while cause I’m stubborn, but may stick toe back in the water around Christmas/New Years.

MSRP $68480The dealers offer was $1750 below the FWP (invoice?), so $62252. This is 9.1% off + any rebates at delivery. I felt it was a good deal with very limited inventory and inflated prices.

I got an offer on a 2019 from Dave Smith that had most of what I wanted. They lowered the price twice as I bargained with them. Finally I took a build to my local dealer and came back with this offer. It’s only 1500 more than Dave Smith for a 2 MY newer and no hassle of buying out of state and the cost of getting it back here

2020 Laramie Limited 2500 Crew Cab
MSRP - 83,815
Price OTD - 78,400
Damn that seems really good.

I am in York, PA. I have been checking with local dealers in York, PA and a couple in Maryland for a 2021 Ram 3500 Limited.
Best offer I found was a dealer in MD who was going $2,500 below invoice (Holdback is $2,467). So, they were digging a bit down into the price. This does not include any additional rebates/incentives at time of delivery.
I wanted to give the business to my local dealer a mile up the street, so I worked with him a bit on price. I couldn't get him to go all the way into the HB like the guy in Maryland, but, got him within about $750 of what the Maryland dealer offered.
I did not want to beat him up and play too many games, walk out, all that stuff. I just wanted to get it done.

They offered me $14,000 trade-in on my rusted smoking 2007 Ram 2500 5.9L Cummins, so I felt that the trade-in value was more than fair. What they do with it after, what they sell it for, I don't care. That's their business.
It shows $14,250 on the trade-in. That was the extra $250 I "talked off" the price of the truck, but put on the trade-in instead for whatever reason.

$83,920
-$76,543
----------
$7,377 off, or, 8.7% off MSRP, plus whatever rebates/incentives are available at the time.

If I took the $2500 under Invoice deal from Maryland, that would be 9.7% off MSRP, plus any applicable incentives/rebates at time of delivery.

I’m holding out for OBiden’s new cash for junkers bailout!

I'll have to look at mine to get the specifics, but just from an overall, '20 2500 SRW SB CC Bighorn. MSRP $64305, sold at $58841. This was the only dealer that would really work with us, and was by far the best I could do. Fortunately, it was also the second closest dealer to me.
