Do you guys purchasing out of state have any issues with getting service? My local dealer I went to for years retired. Their replacement as well as other locals want crazy money in this market. My friend went to a sister store from where he bought his and they gave him all kind of grief. I can't imagine if purchased out of state. I do all my own work except warranty but with the tech on these new trucks and issues, wondered peoples experience with such work at a non selling dealer in your areas.

Any dealer worth their salt will see service as an opportunity to earn your business. Warranty work is kind of break even at best for them, but service is definitely a profit center. My oldest boy is a Director for a large Audi/VW group and they make a ton of money doing service work.

that said, you're more likely to get a loaner from a selling dealer while under the 3/36 bumper-bumper. If you're using extended warranty, loaner is part of the contract.

I kind of ran into this with my wifes grand caravan a few years ago. I live in Michigan, but bought the van in Ohio. It had some defective paint on the hood and 2 dealers near me said I had to take it back to the dealer I bought it from. I was so ticked from that response, that they are on my 'black list' permanently. Once I found a dealer that would do the work, they dragged their feet until the dealer got sold to another owner and the new owners told me that they didn't have a body shop to deal with... Long story short, they wanted me to take it 2 hours away for the work... nope, I'll just deal with it for a while.

No problem here. I bought mine from Granger, 2 states away. Local dealer has been great about all the warranty work and TSB/recalls, including repainting the hood. They never give me any flack about buying it elsewhere.
 
It should not matter where you purchased the vehicle. If it’s still under factory warranty then any Chrysler/Ram/Jeep dealership has to honor the warranty.

Right, it shouldn't matter. But since warranty pays the shop significantly less than the normal hourly rate for the same repair out of warranty they will do their best to get out of doing it. Personally when they don't act like they want to do it, I'm done using that shop because they put dollar signs ahead of good customer service and I'd rather not have those types of people working on my cars... let alone my bicycle, LOL
 
I'm in CA- so factor in that surcharge.
I have a fleet account at 2 different dealerships in the SF Bay Area - both wanted $100k for my truck, Sticker was $103,000. I got mine for $94k and change at Hoblit in Woodland- they treated me great....but how sad is that when I'm happy about buying a truck for $94 grand and it was over $100 after T&L?

FWIW, they had hundreds of trucks......I also bought a 2025 Ram 2500 work truck with the Hemi gas motor for $42,600 which was $5k cheaper than my other fleet source dealers local. Hoblit knows they are a destination dealer and they have to offer great pricing. Robert Capestro was very good.

Not sure if anyone knows but Carvana recently jumped into the new car market. There are several new Ram 2500s with great discounts. I've purchased from the before and I love the 100% hassle free process. I was looking at a 2026 Warlock 6.4 in Granite, but it is now under Purchase in progress. It had $9485 discount. There are several Tradesman 6.7 diesel with steeper discounts. Just another option.

Not having to deal with salesmen, financing manager and spending hours at the dealer negotiating and all the added crap dealers tack on, is priceless.
 
My 2026 3500 comes in next week, gave me a good deal on plus with the military discount and a documentation fee including a new plate. Did 8 years in the Marines and getting a Marines plate with a disabled symbol on it for it, lost my right leg due to amputation after being shot twice there during combat. I wear a prosthetic leg which I adjusted to very well
Peacetime vet here (well Desert Storm era but got sent to Honduras). God bless you, sincerely grateful, and enjoy the truck. I am coming back to Ram after my 11 month old F350 blew a CP4 pump with 15K miles. Stellantis service is not the best, but holy smokes, Ford corporate makes it hard on the dealer. Looking for a 3500 DRW.
 
Mark dodge is the only way to go, 10-15k cheaper, no haggling, no smug low IQ salesman. Last but not least it was all done remotely and they delivered the truck to my door 4 hrs away.
