Price negotiated from MSRP

  • 2020 Limited Diesel 4x4. Fully Loaded.
  • MSRP $82600
  • paid $76000 plus Middle Blue Book for my trade (2019 1500 Limited). I was pretty amazed because no dealer has ever offered me even low bluebook for a trade-in. Apparently slightly used in good condition Ram 1500s are very in demand right now. Mine was like new except it had a nasty $3000 dent because someone backed into the rear quarter panel and left the scene. They didn’t care about it at all and I saved $700 not having to pay the deductible. I am glad I didn’t have to put yet another claim on my insurance. People around SoCal love to hit your car and run.
  • 0% for 36 Months.
  • dealership was having a sales contest and this was the final day so they were very motivated

Im just starting the search for a new 2500 Big Horn. So far best over the phone deal I can get is 6.7% off list. I would like 12%

I ended up jumping on a deal negotiated with a dealer 2.5 hours away. 2020 Laramie 2500 4x4 w the Cummins - $75,245 list, negotiated $67.5. Not exactly the deal I wanted but this truck had every option I wanted. Had I built a truck it would have been this exact build so I pulled the trigger. I’m ecstatic with the purchase!

If those numbers are MSRP and what you negotiated before any rebates or incentives you got the employee price or close which is difficult to do. Plus, finding a truck that is what you would have ordered is outstanding. A good deal for sure

It would have been 68,250 minus the $750 diesel rebate. I didn’t qualify for anything else. They showed me the invoice at $70,043. All in all, the truck is amazing. It has the Night package, trailer technology package, Laramie level 2 package, protection group, 5th wheel, bed utility group, power running boards, 12” screen, leather bucket seats and lsd.

That would put it into the Family & friends discount price or close to it. Still a great deal and well equipped. Enjoy it, it's a great truck. Congratulations

When buying any vehicle I first determine my absolute highest price I am willing to pay,,,in my case it was $50,000 If I can't get it for exactly that or lower I move on period.
Thankfully this truck had all the options I wanted with exception to the cargo bed camera and I really wanted the Delmonico Red color.. This was the only dealer that met my price point, even my local dealer thought the deal was a scam "there is no way they can sell that truck for that" LOL.. So I drove three states away and picked it up. I Love SC, my state sales tax on this truck is only $300... Even if I buy a Bughatti Veron for a cool 2 mil. The sales tax is $300.. I am so glad I do not live in some of the various communist states that will remain nameless...

BTW vehicle color is a very distant second for me
Great for sales tax but they stick it to you on property tax at least in my county. No one seems to be able to explain how they arrive at the price you pay either but everything else is so dirt cheap I don’t get too wound up about it. Glad you found the truck you like.

What state did you find it in?

Business must be good in Idaho. Called Dave Smith Motors twice today, left messages, and never got a return call.

Dave Smith is notoriously slow to call back. Same with Dennis Dillion though I hear they’re getting better.

OA

Damn. Dave Smith could only do 6.7% off MSRP on a 2020 Big Horn w/Cummins
I need 12% off.
Guess I'll wait until the end of the year and play again. Nothing wrong with my 2016 2500. Just wanted a new one.

I paid 56500 for my 2020 Powerwagon.

That’s me with my 2017!

Well, not really a negotiated price but here's what I bought. 2020 crew cab, 4x4,Laramie 5500 cab chassis. The MSRP was just over 71k. Couldn't find another one set up with options I wanted anywhere in the country so I had to take this one. Ordering and waiting possibly six months for delivery was not an option. This one has heavy duty snow prep package, diesel of course, dual fuel tanks, cold weather group, leather trimmed seats, upgraded paint color, 8.4" U-connect, ParkView Rear camera, customer preferred package 2YH. Paying $63,485, that includes the $1000 upfitter rebate. I think what's just as important is the nice interest rate from my credit union 3.14% on a five year loan, dealer wanted way over 5%.
Now I just have to wait until mid October to see my truck, the upfitter is way backed up with many trucks ahead of mine. The bed will be a custom 9' 9" flatbed to accommodate loading the newer longer Polaris Rangers.
As a side note, this will be the first Dodge truck I've bought in 44 years, mostly jumping ship from GMC after my current 1 ton broke a crankshaft at 89,000 miles (15 grand repair) and had to replace the turbo at 82,000 (5 grand repair).

I guess, I didn't do the math. Is that about what people are paying? Like I said, I didn't really have a choice or option of negotiating.

I'd do a deal today for 10% off MSRP for the truck with options I want. Dave Smith has 3 of them and wont do any better than 6.7% off MSRP
Headed out today to visit the local dealer to see their best price on a build.
