Price negotiated from MSRP

In November they had massive incentives. Day after thanksgiving, bought a new 2024 2500 Laramie 6.4 midnight edition, sticker $75k, dealer price was $55!!! I’m normally a GM guy but that deal was too good to pass up.

126 Laramies? Seriously? Dude, even the largest dealership in my area doesn't have 126 total vehicles in their entire inventory, including used. Where do you live that a dealership would have 126 trucks of one specific trim level IN STOCK?
Good point.

Slightly off topic but related. How do dealer coupons work, do they get new ones every month that they run out of?

Anyone think they can help me negotiate a good deal? Cuz some of these dealers are still convinced they can sell at MSRP. I don’t know how yall are getting 16k off

Not sure what you are trying to get, but here is an example with $11k off MSRP, no bs fees. They have clearly stated prices with decent discounts on their website. Reach out to Anthony there. I think he is AnthonyRI here in the forums. He will treat you right, in my experience.

I am talking with Otis at Mark Dodge but they only have one 24 PW incoming. Need to order a 25 to get any other one where they are doing 11% off MSRP + Rebates

Because they can, and they do. PT Barnum once famously said, "There's a sucker born every minute", and I'm pretty sure auto dealerships believe that even more than Mr. Barnum did.

I don't know where you're located or how far you're willing to travel but I got a pretty square deal from Dolan Dodge Ram in Reno, but I had to work for it. They weren't advertising anything spectacular back in June but at least I know they're  willing to work a deal, if you're willing to ask for it. I went there cuz its only a 2 hour drive for me and they had pretty much THE truck I wanted sitting right there on the lot when nobody else did. I guess I was willing to pay a wee bit more than I coulda done at Mark Dodge or similar but the convenience was worth it to me. And, the smallish local dealership who was willing to cut a deal, sold a truck and got the biz. Thats how it's supposed to work.

Yeah my biggest problem right now is that I’m looking at the limited stock of lunar PWs and there are very few that aren’t bare bones, and they’re all far from me, so I can only deal over the phone.

Dealerships deal over the phone ALL the time. Much of my deal was done over the phone before I ever drove up there. Of course they still prefer a customer standing in their showroom (lots of advantages for the dealership) but those days are gone... hello internet. Find the truck, call the dealership, make sure they understand you are a qualified BUYER, and make them a fair and reasonable offer. Of course, "reasonable" is subjective and no doubt their idea of reasonable is different than yours, but you both know what these trucks  can be bought for. Maybe they ain't gonna, and if thats the case, tell em pound sand. Whatever you do, DON'T let them know that you have your heart set on a particular truck and that they have exactly what you're looking for. You wanna approach it like you're just looking for a good deal and you'll buy from whoever is willing to do it. Tell em it's a done deal if they can meet your offer, make them go to work and hopefully you get close enough that it works for both of you. But don't be afraid to bail!

Heard multiple rumors of Ram cutting MSRPs soon by 35%. Is that just people blowing smoke or should be holding off on buying one?

A $80,000 truck for fifty grand? Eh, I doubt it. They probably could but I seriously don't think so, especially after what Biden's inflation has done. It would be awesome if I'm wrong.

In my opinion, it is clickbait. No way prices are dropping like that. Look at margins of auto makers. If any one auto maker / truck maker dropped MSRP that much, It would completely crash the entire auto industry making it completely dependent upon permanent government subsidies. Basically, auto builders and/or the government would be subsidizing us to purchase vehicles. The only other way that happens is if we go through a long period of deflation.
