I have a freind that was seriously thinking of ordering a Power Waygon with the Cummins until he sat down with dealer. No winch, no factory lift, stiffer suspension to carry the added load .
He also was told that while offloading the DEF will most likely have glogging of the filter as he will be slow moving thru trails.
I must ask why would you want a Cummins PW ? Most pepole won't be towing 20K into the tundra to go playing on the trails. Makes no sense. Just my thoughts. Maby I'm missing somthing.

It's a Rebel with a front locker and antisway bar disconnect.

It costs them nothing to offer, it's all off the shelf parts that require no new R&D or certifications. It competes directly with the F-250 Tremor diesel, though Ford figured out how to have a diesel *and* a winch which continues to elude Stellantis.

People more interested in the lifestyle marketing that the use and then a few niche cases of people towing heavy in rougher terrain will buy it. No personal experience, but I'm told oil patch trucks are often diesel just for the convenience of refueling with the tanks for the heavy equipment.

I think it’s a great option. For hunting I’d love an OEM locker front and rear, for my current use the swaybar disconnect isn’t a huge perk but not a bad one either.

Plenty of towing capacity and great traction when needed.

That being said, I’d need one in a long bed.

Also, it’s the DPF that would clog more not DEF. I will say that I never noticed any slow speed use causing more regens when back roads hunting since the terrain creates more load than stop and go driving.

I get that, but if you took a traditional power wagon and a rebel offroad which would be more capable out of the box? My guess is the PW would be markedly better.

Depends completely on what you’re trying to do with the rig, hence the options.

It’s far more attractive to me than a “traditional” PW ever would be, and I highly doubt I’m the only one. Can’t just call it a PW since there are 3 major variants of the PW.

For how I would use it the Cummins PW would be leaps and bounds better. That’s the beauty of options, and this is a great one for consumers.

I agree 100% the rebel is way more appealing. Alot of the offroad, but all of the HD capability. I just feel that the powerwagon and rebel are their own entities even if they are technically under the same umbrella. One for pure offroad and one for pure HD work with enhanced offroad capabilities.

If I didnt find the deal I found on my megacab, and I waited a year I'd have gotten a rebel gasser. Funny what life presents you with :D

The Power Wagon fell from grace the moment the winch became an option instead of standard equipment IMHO. I guess anything goes now.

Hm. Must be a new thing then.
Maybe because of the diesel option?
Got me. In the 26 build it is a selectable standalone option. In the 25 build it is part of the PW Level 1 Equipment Group. So it seems at least for a couple build cycles they weren't standard issue.
