That comes down to personal choice. Either way you'll be happy. I stuck with not drilled and slotted.Now to really stir it up...

Drilled and slotted are a ripoff. Look at professional race cars, the vast majority of them DON'T have drilled rotors. It's just eye candy for the oem to put on their performance packs and weekend track day bros to bling their cars for Sunday's Cars and Coffee. They heat up faster and are more prone to cracking.Now to really stir it up...

I just wanted to post a quick review of some brakes I just put on my PW tonight.
A repeating post I see on this forum is complaints on the brake pedal feel. The common complaint is a mushy pedal or a lack of immediate feedback from the brake pedal resulting in the user feeling like they need more pressure to achieve sufficient braking.
I had not particularly felt this way about the stock brakes - although coming from a 98 Chevy 1500 and then an 01 Cummins I didn't have much to compare to. Nor did I change the brakes for this reason - my reason is I had a brake squeal I could not get rid of for the life of me. Always from the left front that would happen within the last 30 feet of braking after the vehicle was driven for 10 or so minutes. I tried it all. Resurfacing the brake pads, altering the pad edge angles, cutting the surface of the rotor to eliminate any glaze, proper cleaning and lubrication of the backing plates, etc etc. It was driving me nuts! What was even worse was throwing away brakes that appeared to have 70 percent of their life left at 33k.... Oh well.... What kind of price can you put on sanity? Anyway.
I decided to do all 4 corners because, why not. I used the PowerStop Z36 line of brake pads and Evolution Geomet coated blank/non slotted rotors. (I am not a believer in drilled/slotted rotors..... Thats another subject)
Let me tell you the difference I felt was immediate - which really surprised me. Normally brakes need a certain amount of time to properly bed - meaning the pads need to fully mate to the surface of the rotor. They assume each others shape. In addition to this it allows time for the brake pad to physically embed its material into the outer surface of the brake rotor further increasing its friction capability. Basically I am expecting the brakes to improve even further in the next couple hundred miles of driving. Like I said I didn't really "feel" like the OEM brakes needed much improvement but now moving to these I am very happy to say the initial "bite" of the brakes is vastly improved. Their responsiveness seems much better as well.
If anyone is wanting to improve their brakes on these trucks I really suggest Powerstops Z36 pads and blank Geomet rotors. You won't be disappointed.
Honestly though the best part of this whole thing is NO MORE EVIL/HORRIBLE/RAGE INDUCING SQUEAK!!!! 1st world problems, I know......

But it looks so good so it doesn't matter.I think I agree. I actually thought my truck had great braking performance -- until I added 35's and the lift.
It definitely stops worse now!
They really do make great products all around.I’m a powerstop fan. Only rotors my wife hasn’t managed to warp on her suv. I actually just swapped out the front and rear brembo pads on my 23 Durango with powerstop pads as the oem dust like a mofo. Powerstop carbon ceramic z26 to the rescue.
