Power wagon fuel range

this is the second time I have driven from western Montana to SE Minnesota, did it the same time last year as well. drove in Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Wyoming and this year like last year the worst mpg was on Minnesota gas. you would think that it would be best as slower speed limits and flat. Best was Montana and Wyoming, two hilly high speed limit places. cheapest gas was wyoming you can get non ethanol 91 for $4.59 and 87 for $3.99.

I think you are looking at it the wrong way.
The range to empty will change based on the average MPG.
If you start your trip and have say 8 MPG on the scale from city driving, then dont reset it when you get on the freeway, yes, the Range will go up as the average MPG goes up.
Now if you show 8 MPG. Fill up, then reset it. It will still show range till empty based on the 8 MPG. Once you start driving and it recalculated the MPG, it will go up
Now go drive till you get say 15 MPG showing, stop and fill up and reset, and I bet it shows around 400 range to empty.

@jadmt Just making a joke - not saying you were doctoring the trip or image. If I got those numbers I'd take it into the shop b/c the computer is broken.

Most of the time I can't tell when my MDS kicks in. Sometimes I'm able to notice if i'm hyper-fixating on it - but more than anything the exhaust note changes pretty dramatically; which then causes me to look and watch the `eco` symbol. I found I can turn it off ; which helps me not paying attention to it.

I cant tell either, just see green light come on. I've got 5000 miles on mine and drive 95% city. I've got 35's, drive it pretty hard and I'm getting 10.8

im sporting a 1300# 4whellcamper on mine with 37z. driving 50mph,1500rpm,just about getting 14 when i hit city traffic, that killed it

Anyone have an AEV ProCal SNAP that I can borrow? If so, please DM me. I'm happy to pick up if in the Mid Atlantic or pay shipping (both ways)/
I just can't justify a $225 purchase for a one time use.
With 37s, I'm hoping the poor mileage of 8mpg is because it still thinks it's running on 33s

I’m 99% sure they self lock to one VIN (like many programmers)

As a side note: I don’t have a power wagon but I have a 6.4 gas, 3.73, 35”s and I have no problem getting 15 mpg on the highway, 12 mpg around town as measured on the dash. I don’t care to hand calculate and I don’t pay attention to total range since a tank of fuel can last me a month

Yeah they do lock to your VIN. I was just setting mine up and there was a specific note and color code it would flash for the wrong VIN.

Get a programmer, your poor truck thinks you're going 65 when you're really doing 72 (33" to 37" is an approximate 11% decrease in revolutions per mile). And yes, they're all VIN locked once you use them, they're intended as a 1 vehicle gadget otherwise 1 person would buy one and then pass it around all over the country.
