Hi team,

I’ve been hunting a blacked out/night edition 2500 with the Cummings. I found a 2023 in stock, Big Horn. It has the level 1 package, night edition, and 5th prep group with the spray on bed liner. It’s exactly what I have been looking for. The best price they can do is 64,131 after all rebates. The out the door is right at 71 with taxes and delivery fee of 1500.

Is this a solid deal? I know most of the rebates say they end in February and finding a diesel in a blacked out 2500 is getting harder to find. Thoughts?

Have you checked out mark dodge in Louisiana? If not on the lot see what they can do for a order.

They’re taking about 18.5% off the MSRP.
However there’s $1,055 worth of charges there between Document, Title, and “electronic filing fee” (whatever that is).

Not long ago, you could get 11% off MSRP through Mark Dodge in Lake Charles Louisiana, and then tack on the 10% off MSRP from Ram as an incentive for a grand total of 21% off MSRP. I don’t think their document fees are as high either. I would probably question some of those “fees” and maybe shop around. Its already 2024 so that truck is a model year old.

Why a transportation fee?

If you can get them to take another 1500 off you’re doing good. Nothing off I think it’s fair but you can do better. Your also getting a “new but 1 year old truck too so consider that for resale”

boils down to if there are other options on it that you "want" on one...

here's one closer/cheaper, ask them to help you out on the cost of a b&w gooseneck and bed liner

the discount on the one in GA is par for the course, and the $1500 delivery fee is probably pretty standard....sure the fees are higher, but that's just part of it when looking at aged inventory. maybe could find a 2024 but how much higher will it be MSRP wise? I saw some that much have been built early in the 24MY cycle that were close to the 23 you're looking at...others a few grand higher. Also the 10% rebate comes and goes on the 24's

Ultimately the one in GA is $500 higher on fees than what you could probably find locally/regionally. not enough to sway me if that is the exact one i want. yes it's a year old, but in some aspects it would have a higher resale than a 24 with the same mileage if you really put the miles on it

Idk how it is in the US right now but here in canada where i am they are doing the no charge CUMMINS right now which saves 9-11k (depending on SO or HO cummins)

Have they ever done this stateside? That’s huge savings for those that want the Cummins.

Looks like they are screwing you pretty hard on the add on fees of $2552! There should already be a delivery/transport fee listed on the window sticker. They're hitting you twice for that. When I got my new truck from Granger, it was a total of $225 of add on fees, and $45 of that was for the out of state transit tags so I could drive it until my plates showed up. No double delivery fees or other BS charges.

he's having the truck delivered from Georgia to Texas - that's where the extra $1500 transportation fee is coming from. The doc fee is a little much for sure... I usually stay away from those type of dealers...then again, Mark Dodge is now $425 I think

I don't see that mentioned anywhere in this thread, but that would make more sense.

seeing as how he has 1 post and joined a few days ago, he'll probably never post again.

I did the same thing, was like, whats up with the extra charge, and then noticed his name/hometown was on the buyers order and the dealer is in GA...if I was him I'd just find a 24 closer to me and wait on the rebate to swing in my favor. trucks aren't selling

Especially Ram trucks, it seems. There is a massive over supply of Ram 2500 and 3500 trucks right now. Been that way for a few months now.

Not here most dealers have the odd 2500 not much stock out there unless you want a 1/2 ton.

Ram 1500s are lowered priced, easier to peddle with a high interest rate environment. Businesses or customers of 2500/3500 can order to their specs and wait. 100k trucks like to sit with payments of $1500+/mo and harder to qualify people for

what part of the country are you in?

In our area even the small town dealers that barely have 30+ total vehicles have 4-5 in stock 2500s. One of the larger dealers has 150 on the ground, local medium size dealers have 30-40-50+ on the lot.
