Plowing with Mega Cab

So an opportunity has come along my way or maybe it isn't. There is a 2019 2500 MC with a CTD sitting on a dealers lot as new. I am mildly interested in but I do plow my own drive and at my work (northern Michigan). Turning radius is not a huge concern though it is some consideration. My concern lies mainly with the weight of the engine plus the additional weight of the plow on the front end. Truth, be told I have no need for a mega cab but it is more about a possible buy. I will use the truck also for towing a box trailer but weight wise it is 6000lbs or less. Generally, speaking I would be looking at the 6.4 HEMI for what I really need it for but the 6.7 Cummins I am a fan of; for towing and especially the engine brake. I know the arguments for the payload with the CTD and the mega cab but really outside of a topper and my wife and I with a couple of dogs we are not using it to haul. I need to plow and pull the trailer. It isn't an everyday vehicle and like most of my vehicles I tend to hold them a decade or better. The fact that it is 2 model years old doesn't weigh in either because the longevity of ownership and cash deal. So is it a opportunity, to take or pass?

A new 2019? That sounds kind of sketchy at this date. I once had a deal on a "new" truck and just as I was about to make the somewhat distant drive to the dealership to pick it up, the salesman just realized that it was actually a demo with 5k miles. Yeah right.

Anyway, do you know what the door sticker says the payload is?

Looking at autotrader, I guess there still are a number of 19's around. I'd ask them to verify the mileage and the payload sticker.

1840lbs. The truck has 800 or so miles on it. They also have a 2020 just about the same build. I have seen the vehicle.

Throw the proper ballast weight in the bed and your fine, my 19 cclb is my plow rig

H3, I liked your plug in set up.
I was mainly worried about the weight on the front. Proper balance is key.

You wont have an issue my plow is 750lbs when the ballast is in the box when i lift the plow the front end only drops 1/2” so they truck can handle it, ill be getting a 9’6” v blade next year that weighs in at 930lbs

Great. Thanks. My plow weighs in at 730lbs. The truck isn’t exactly what I want but if the deal can be made I think it will be great buy.
