Do you guys think Ram will go after GM with their 3/4? GM raised their payload ratings on their 3/4 way up this year, I saw one on the lot that had a 10700 gvwr

Why?

The 10k GVWR keeps you under expensive registration in a ton of states and if you need more there is the 3500 SRW. GM will lose buyers due to that increase from the higher annual costs alone.

Why did I ask the question? Well I guess I was curious on everyone’s thoughts, I don’t necessarily think it’s a good idea that GM went that route myself. But the truck manufactures love to say “best in class” and by raising their gvwr on their 3/4 tons they will def be able to say this on their payload ratings. I’ve always been curious how many people actually realize that when they go over the 10k mark depending on where they live there is a good chance their registration costs will go up. I doubt the dealers inform this of this.

I really wish the 2500 had higher payload. Insurance and Reg. fees no different here for 2500/3500.
Instead I had to get the 3500.

Not tempted by the GM number but would have gone ram 2500 with more payload.

2500, CC, SB, bighorn sport, 4x4, 8spd

Would love to see how much the optional equipment weighs since it comes in 428lbs less than the advertised payload. Im guessing most of it is from the power front seats with console instead of the bench

No matter. I've seen some nice light 5th wheels that would meet my family's needs if we ever go that route (already have a TT)

Even if I eventually get a bed cap I figure I'd be good with anything under a 2,000lb pin weight

Dogeram: Got me by 5 pounds! haha! I would be curious to what option(s) I have that you don't that made that 5 pound difference.

Options below.

Still waiting on an explanation of where the missing 143 pounds of payload capacity went. Screenshot_20191121-165120_Dropbox.jpgScreenshot_20191121-165132_Dropbox.jpgScreenshot_20191121-165223_Dropbox.jpg

If you mean against the confugurator... it is not correct. Any option will change it. The biggest one being the protection group(transfer case skid plate).also the 5th wheel prep and tradesman level 2 package. That is 143 lbs @Dogeram

Also the bright wheel skins, rear wheelhouse liners, clearance lights and tow mirrors

You actually have a pretty optioned up Tradesman @Dogeram
