I dunno, if the thief has a pipe, who knows for sure what his intentions are?I sincerely hope you don't kill someone over "stuff." It's not justifiable.

Where do you work?Y’all are making me paranoid, lol. My truck sits parked at work for days and nights at a time. My hitch is like 80lb I hate removing it.

No, we don’t really have issues with rust here in Georgia. The hitch is powder coated except where it has worn off the ball, but the ball has a little grease on it. I guess a benefit to removing the hitch would be my backup sensors would work again. Maybe I’ll just take it off when I’m not using itDoes it not get corroded? Any hitch I've ever left semi permanently on the back of a truck ended up with issues. I live in meth country where they will steal anything they think they can make $5 on, and in 10 years I never had a hitch taken. The only reason I quit doing it was I started replacing them with more expensive and heavier duty hitches that I want to last.
911, only after the threat is put down, scared away, Or they surrender. Not everyone retreats when confronted. The problem today is that are no ramifications, especially teenagers. Not everyone will hand over their stuff. Perhaps you should just turnover your excess items. Like a house that is much larger than you need. That RV. That boat.
I do not dial 911.

And a couple of others who will just belittle potential thieves until they decide they've made a bad decision.Watch out we gotta couple of badasses here. Better not get near their stuff or they’ll shoot you.
Nope...There's a non-urgent number to call.911, only after the threat is put down, scared away, Or they surrender.
Apparently you are wealthy enough that you can just replace your stuff if it’s stolen but I am not and view my “stuff” as my hard earned dollars being taken by someone who chooses not to earn it.Watch out we gotta couple of badasses here. Better not get near their stuff or they’ll shoot you.

I do not dial 911. I have had a thief call 911 as they ran away after being hit with a bat. He had already robbed 4 house that night.
Wealth has nothing to do with killing a person unjustifiably. You can view your stuff however you’d like but you would still be wrong. Be a lot cheaper to replace a hitch than to hire a lawyer and get locked upApparently you are wealthy enough that you can just replace your stuff if it’s stolen but I am not and view my “stuff” as my hard earned dollars being taken by someone who chooses not to earn it.
I don’t think you have a grasp on reality my friend, just stay in your insulated world and keep that naive view. No one said anything about taking a life unjustifiably, many of the derelicts who ply their trades today are armed and if you dare to confront them you will be attacked.Wealth has nothing to do with killing a person unjustifiably. Bolt Lock Pin for me. Their video shows how much tougher they are than the rest out there. Nothing is 100%. A good grinder will cut through even the best in a couple of minutes. They are there to keep honest people honest.Ahoy.
Looking for a pipe attack resistant hitch pin. After I ordered another fancy hitch yesterday I found out about how easy it is to defeat the common locking hitch pin. Mostly because the thin area it tapers down to for the lock to bite over.
So far this spendy bastage has caught my eye:

Has a fancy disc lock but still looks like a dromer could slip a pipe over it.
Any other ideas out there?
Thanks.
EDIT; Upon further research it looks like that pin is only Class 3 rated for 5,000lbs.
The search continues...
Deadly force is only justified legally and morally if you or someone else is in fear of great bodily injury or death. I CCW and hope to never have to unholster and make a truly life changing decision to end another human's life. No matter that you are justified, you opened a can of whoop ass that can never be reversed. The goal is to make my stuff look like more effort to steal than someone else's stuff. I sure hope folks do not value my stuff more than their life.
