Payload rating of 2500 6.4 hemi

This is the chart I use to determine proper pressure for the load. A few trips to a scale can really help determine your average weights and how much less air pressure you actually need to not be overinflated all the time.

Earlier I said to you wheels and tires weren’t part of the GVWR. Well I was certainly wrong on that after my research. Went to the scale last night and got these results. I should have weighed the axles individually which I will do next time. So my truck has a GVWR of 10,000 lbs, minus the total weight with my butt in the seat leaves 3320 lbs left for payload.

That payload sounds more correct. They're another guy on the other ram forum with a RCLB 2500 6.4 4x2 with 3800 lbs of payload. His truck is pretty much stripped down, bare bones as it gets.

How did it not weigh your drive axle, that scale should have been under the rear tires?

The campers I’m looking at are between 1700 and 2000 lbs, that’s going to give me plenty extra to play with even with water, gear, and 1 or 2 people. This isn’t a fancy truck, it’s a work truck that’s basic. Not much added on so I could keep the maximum available payload. No 4000 lb campers for me. I’m a minimalist. I bought the Ram because of the HUGE discount I got. Leaves me to add whatever I need to make sure it can handle what I’m throwing at it. Believe me, I drove a 3500 regular cab and the ride was so harsh. This is also my daily driver.
We had a slide in camper (Lance squire 915) that the tag said about 1800 pounds.

However, when in use with our gear it always scaled at right at or over 3,000 pounds.

The pounds pile on fast.

I’m kind of a minimalist so not too worried about it. How do you like the Lance Squire? I was just looking at this online the other day.

We had it from 1999 to about 2013 and we liked it. We needed to be able to tow, so we needed a slide in camper.

One more thing on the weight tag that is dry weight.

It doesn’t count propane, or any add ons like solar not to mention water and sewage.
