Parking Truck Outdoors....critters???

Wife threw out a couple of french-fries at Walmart parking lot the other day, then laid one on the dash, dam birds about broke the window pecking at it.

I put mice traps out around the house. I don’t want them in my house vehicles or tractors. They can cause major damage to wiring and insulation in a vehicle and leave a awful smell when they die in a vehicle.

Some kind of rodent did a $1200 number on the Raptor it's first trip out of town, not warranty covered believe it or not.
Below freezing out and it thought it was overheating upon startup, a couple of harnesses replaced.

I am also in the north west and have the same concerns. and have seen chipmunks on and in vehicles. talking to a guy in the bar who said two of his cars have been badly damaged by rodents but they were both toyotas and no other cars have been touched. I do put heavy amounts of repellent around the truck

I work for another vehicle manufacturer and during winter season, we get a bunch of claims regarding critters biting on wiring, nesting in insulation areas. This is common during cold months. At least for us, the reason they chew on wiring is because of the small amounts of soy found in the wiring insulation. It just takes a hungry critter to take a bite and its over. Some times they just nest and dont care for the wiring but if they are hungry enough wiring in the engine or any where there is wiring is common. It is NOT a warrantable concern so we almost always deny.

stuff some dryer sheets (you know, Bounce) in the places where rodents will likely congregate. It works, they hate the smell of this product.

That would keep me out of my truck too.
