P 2281 code on check engine light

This came on while towing my 10,000# camper right after dealer upgraded the turbo software. The upgrade to software was because the check engine light came on while on a 5000 mile camping trip. The truck ran and pulled fine with that light on. Now with this code the truck goes into lymph mode. This code says it has an air leak between the MAF sensor and the throttle body. I’ve had the dealer and an independent shop both look into this and both could not find any air leak. The light only comes on when I’m towing something heavy. Any suggestions on what it is?

Could be a sensor issue thinking it’s an air leak but in reality a miscalculation. Maybe try some MAF sensor cleaner available at auto parts stores. Are you running a oem air filter?

Air filter was replaced 10k miles ago. Dealer looked at it and advised it was ok. Thx for suggestion. Will try MAF sensor cleaner.

Just got the same p2281 code last night on my 2025 with 2400 miles on it. Off to dealer again tomorrow. Trip #4 with this truck. Let me know what you find out or if used the maf cleaner.
