Just wanted to post in here an experience I had with the UConnect system and App on my iPhone. Something I thought I would never need.

Long story short, my truck was at a detail facility (for tint, PPF, and ceramic coating, almost $6K in total) and the owner has been driving it as if it were their shop truck. Hauling cars around Phoenix. Trips down to Gilla Bend and Tuscon for personal events. Etc.

I could go on and on, but it's been handled. Just wanted to say It was through UConnect that I caught on to what was happening and started asking the right questions.

I also learned my truck has a "Trailer Trip Odometer." They put 1200 miles on my truck (total is now 2700,) and 370 of those miles are pulling a trailer.

I’d like to know about the miles pulling a trailer

Thanks. When I get my truck just have to figure out how to turn it off/on lol
It works automatically when the 7 pin is plugged in. You can set up various trailers and brake setups.

You select the trailer you want, plug in the 7 pin and it will keep track of miles for that trailer and use the proper braking system.

It will not work with the 4pin, but can be tricked using a 7 pin to 4 pin connector plugged in the 7 pin, or so I have been told.

That is very unfortunate.

Awesome the uconnect actually helped you out though.

Thanks for the updates and information

That’s nice. Currently I only have my 5er to connect to 7pin. 17K #. Not worried about my 4pin as it’s just a lowboy and may have my Harley or golf cart on it.

Wow, that is terrible. I had picked up a card for a shop in PHX that does ceramic coating. Can you say who it was, or PM me the info?

I developed a habit many, many yrs ago of logging the mileage of any of our vehicles being dropped off for service. Inconsiderate azz-hats have been out there forever and they ain't going away any time soon.

for 1200 miles and using truck without authority- I would either get my $6K of service free or have a charge brought for felony theft of vehicle- Give the owner of shop a choice- It is one thing if you find out they drove it home one night but to use for personal and business use is theft

I did exactly that. My money was returned the next morning.

The paint has been repaired and XPel completely redone. Had to wait a few weeks for a new hood badge and hood seal. GM doesn’t sell the clips without the seal, and the aforementioned shop gouged and bent the badges removing them.

Regardless, the truck is done and home safe and sound.

Heres Some pics. That Black Diamond really glistens in the sun.

Glad it worked out to your satisfaction
