To be clear this is not the norm, but it does happen. Mine has had a slew of bed related issue, Ramboxes, bed out of alignment, tailgate not closing correctly. Thanks for sharing - def not what I wanted to hear but still appreciated.
Well depending on the purpose and usage that would be an option. Ramboxes actually have lots of value when used within the intended purpose, the need to carry lots of smaller stuff needed to access easily. I've seen many trades people using them when a bigger truck is not necessary. In my case I got this truck for one purpose pretty much, to tow our trailer. The Ramboxes hold all our small stuff we use camping frequently as well as a small air compressor, 18V drill & batteries, emergency kit, 3 ton scissor jack, hitch stuff, cleaning stuff, fishing poles occasionally, etc. I rarely carry much in the bed except an occasional run to Home Depot. In four years the truck only has 30K on it so a chassis cab would be serious overkill.A buddy has them on his 3500. They feel cheap to me, like they should only be offered on 1500s. He's not happy with them, some of the warping and seal problems. I get that they offer a bit of conveniences for some uses. Personally I don't see the value. If I wanted to give up that much bed space, why not just get a chassis cab, put on a flat bed, and mount metal boxes? Wouldn't be as pretty, but it would be more secure, with more options.
You are correct, most don't have issues.I've heard of a couple of bad experiences like this, and that would suck. But everyone I know that has them, including me, has had little to no issues with them.
I really like them! Have them in my '14. It's where all the groceries etc. go.Well depending on the purpose and usage that would be an option.
