So finally found that muted clunking, spare tire was super loose, so after trying to get the rear seats to fold forward like almost every other truck does, lol i found em under the seat, which is where i got lost, tried to get all those pieces to set up a nod tighten the spare winch, to no avail, as i was about to throw my hands up and cut the stupid thing off, I checked my glove box for a manual,( hint there is none. Well for mine that is..lol)
i noticed another silver rod , hmmmm, hooks to the extension tool...bingo. Tire is nice and snug now,

but question, the jack has its spot the lug wrench has its spot, and the 5 extensions have theirs. Where on earth does that silver one go?, doesn’t really fit in the glove box. Is there a spot somewhere by the funnel maybe ??

Nope, on mine there is another locking end, the one with the hook i tried first and nothing..no matter what it did would get it to catch, took that one off and tried the silver one, looks like a lock system similar to a wheel nut lock

Maybe you paid extra for that

Sounds like maybe some kind of aftermarket anti theft thing for the spare? So no one can lower the tire and run off with it maybe?

Yep. That's what that is.

You paid extra for that, buddy. Why didn’t they just do what the other American automakers do and put a little keyed door over the spare crank hole ?

talked with the dealer, and the dealer they got it from had a rash of thefts so was putting those locks on. makes sense now,
just wish they would’ve told me..lol

The hooked rod is used in the jack.

I bought the Mopar spare tire lock kit bit haven't installed it yet.

Lots of theft going on around these parts now, the city trash is venturing out more into the burbs.
