Oiled vs non oiled air filter

The tube or hose going into the engine from the air filter box. Should confirm or dispel the k&n let’s dirt past the air filter concern. Ideally there should be no film whatsoever.
First off, my oiled filter experience on a diesel was with a Duramax. I wasn't going to run one on my diesel although I'd had wonderful experience with them on gas engines for many miles. But I ended up with one by mistake so I tried it.

My stock intake was dirty, didn't even need a towel to see that. You could wipe it with your hand and come out with a filthy hand. Switched to S&B with oiled filter and everything was grand. Oil analysis was near perfect, air filter cost went down, maintenance intervals were extended, I could not have been happier. Traded it off with 333k miles and still not using any oil on 10k OCIs.

That problem was mostly in the POS factory airbox. That's what spurred me to make the change in the first place. Ram's airbox is much better. I'm still running the dry filter on it after reading all the posts about how picky these trucks are about their air filter diet.
