Oil level low

Anyone experience low oil in the 6.4? Only has about 7k miles on it, first oil change was done at 3k. Checked it today and when I saw it was low it took almost half qt. Pretty certain there is no leak I’ve never seen a drop where it’s parked and don’t see any seepage. I heard consumption to some degree is normal in a new hemi, whether that’s true across the board or not..

Not unheard of as a new engine breaks in.

Who changed it at 3k? Did you check the level after the change? If it happens to have the "large" filter like the 6.4 in the cars use then it will take about half a quart more to fill it up. When I used the filter ram specs for our trucks it took 7qts to fill it. I used a large filter and it took 7.5qts approximately to get mine to full.

I did. Looked good on the dipstick every time I checked until last week. That’s why I was wondering

Strange, my hope was a dealership under filling it.

My 22’ Laramie used about a half quart of oil for the first 6000 miles , if I remember right. After that , it stayed full. I guess it had to break in.
