Oil Leak

I made a video on this about a month ago because I made a huge mess last time I changed my oil. If you pull the filter too fast, the oil overruns that funnel and spills into the two different areas of the crossmember at the front and back of the funnel. My truck dripped oil for days it was annoying.

I am super jealous of how clean that frame is mine is covered with about 3/16 of fluidfilm caked dirt and road dust to keep the rust away lol

Yes that crossmember can hold a lot of oil. Horrible placement of the filter/oil drain pan design IMO.

However I’ve found if you do spill (I always do) the foaming degreaser from Oreilly works amazing. I spray it all over and also fill up the crossmember with it via the hole in the bottom of it, let it sit and then rinse the heck out of everything with a garden hose. Works great. Never had residual oil again
