Oil filter change difficulty

I have a 2019 2500 diesel. Yesterday I completed an oil change in my driveway. Obviously not a difficult task.

The problem I ran into had to do with pulling the oil filter back through the gap in the right front fender.

There is metal plumbing that appears to be related to the cooling system(or AC?), that is bolted to the frame.

I also have the Banks boost tubes installed.

When I tried to pull the oil filter back through the gap, it was blocked by the boost tubes on the top and the cooling system plumbing on the bottom.

I ended up using some wood to push the boost tube up and the plumbing down. And was able to pull the oil filter back through.

It took me quite a while, and I was concerned I was gonna break something. It was not easy to force the filter to fit through the gap.

I’m just wondering if anybody else has run into a similar issue and has a better suggestion for me.

I appreciate any advice!

I actually thought about that. I pulled off the airbox cover and took a peek from the top. It looked like it could be possible, but you would have to remove some parts to make it happen. Definitely the hose from the airbox to the turbo. That might be easier! I appreciate the quick response.
