Does anyone know whether the notification for an oil change is based off "time since last service /miles driven"?
or
Whether truck (ecm) actually is monitoring parameters that indicate an oil change is required?

Cheers

It is mileage and operating hours per the Diesel Supplement Manual- "The oil change reminder will remind the owner to change the engine oil every 15,000 miles (24,000 km) or 500 hours, whichever comes first..." (Page 94)

Be sure to use the Diesel Supplement Manual.

(GASOLINE engines monitor other parameters- "Operating conditions such as frequent short-trips, trailer tow, extremely hot or cold ambient temperatures, and E85 fuel usage will influence when the “Oil Change Required” message is displayed...")

I should state in referring to a 2019 2500 6.7ltr Cummings

Its Cummins not Cummings FYI also it just goes by millage/idle hours which is adequate for a diesel the fuel filter goes by different parameters

Haha, that was autocorrect on my phone. Just wanted to make sure as I did a service earlier and now had the change oil notification pop up. I expected it was miles /hours based just wanted to make sure

Did you reset the oil life when you changed it?
