Alright now we need to figure out if the long bed folks can add one. Do you have the frame end mounting hardware and is it the same distance from the top of the axle?
I don't know why but my truck always does that on a sandy driveway on my property in Michigan. I always have to put 4x4 or I will tear the driveway. It was embarrassing when one of my friends arrived in minivan and no problems at all and two others (one chevy and one toyota truck) no problems. My truck just jumps. My truck hops like a rabbit with any sight wheel spin. Something that happens a lot with the garbage Firestones.
If you have the frame mount you can add one. It comes with a bilstein 4600 shock but they do make a 5100 for it as well. I upgraded it on my last truck and it did seem to help. In sand though you are going to always hop sadly. Its the nature of the beast with rubber bushings on the control arms front and rear.Alright now we need to figure out if the long bed folks can add one. I did some research and to stop the hop we need to install a traction barIf you have the frame mount you can add one. It comes with a bilstein 4600 shock but they do make a 5100 for it as well. Wont do any good on a 2500. Those are put on leaf sprung trucksI did some research and to stop the hop we need to install a traction bar
So my only option is to add that rear anti-wrap shock? Will this help on sand?Wont do any good on a 2500. Those are put on leaf sprung trucks
I’m sure the shock doesn’t hurt but I would call it a bandaid instead of a fix.So my only option is to add that rear anti-wrap shock? Will this help on sand?
I understand. I don't drive much in sand either. Only if I go to Michigan. But when I do drive in it the truck hop like crazy and my wife and kids are always terrified.I’m sure the shock doesn’t hurt but I would call it a bandaid instead of a fix.
I’ve only driven in sand one time, in my rock crawler which has beadlocks and ~5psi in the tires. I can’t claim to be a sand driving expert. I know very little about driving in sand and how it acts.
Do you have the means to air down before hitting the sand and air back up after?I understand. I don't drive much in sand either. Only if I go to Michigan. But when I do drive in it the truck hop like crazy and my wife and kids are always terrified.
My father always said you don’t quit learning to your dead. But some people just choose to quit educating themselves early. You don't look like an ass for doing something we all do and you are right that we all learned something from it.
Oh no that will take too much time. I just need to get to the end of my driveway.Do you have the means to air down before hitting the sand and air back up after?
I thought you can buy one for coil spring shocks also? I saw two kinds. One that you can weld to the rear axle and one with bolt on brackets. The second option won't work if you have or plan to have air bags in the rearWont do any good on a 2500. Those are put on leaf sprung trucks
No, it will rip the mount off within 3 seconds. Your only fix is solid mount bushings which opens up a whole can of worms. Someone on the power wagon forum came up with an idea to use 3 of the axle hop shocks but I can't remember if they said it solved the issue or just was another bandaid. Is it possible I could replace the shock with a solid bar? Will this work better?
My 2021 off road package has the fifth shockNo the off road pkg does not get the 5th shock
Because you have a hemi. Hemis have it, diesels don’t. I think we discovered that long bed crew cab hemis don’t have itMy 2021 off road package has the fifth shock
Has nothing to do with the off road pkgMy 2021 off road package has the fifth shock
