of course this happens at 99,400 miles

Truck was left at the dealer today. At 99768 miles of the 100k power train warranty lol.

Talked to the tech cool dude he pulled his laptop out pulled codes and said they will pull the Trans and it will be a rebuild or replace under warranty. So if that's the case then I'm probably out of a truck for a while.

There goes my plans for trips with the camper for a while.

Sadness.

I tried to overhaul one last week. Just a valve body and low reverse clutch assembly due to a bad lr piston. No eta on any of the parts. Had a complete trans in 2 days

Couldnt have failed at a better time IMO!

going into the shop for the first time for them to see about fixing it under warranty. i have less then 300 miles to 100k lol. if they dont fix it im just going to drop the coin and get a full rebuild done, more clutch's added, billet everything, all the jazz. already got it priced out at 5500 installed for the full build
I wouldn’t care if I were ONE mile until warranty was up…I’d make the dealer replace or repair. We pay way too much money for these trucks (a lot of that cost I believe is the warranty) to let them get off free on it.

so review of this 61k ram 1500 big horn.

pros - Smooth, comfy, like the color more then i thought i would.

cons - couldnt pull a g string out of a cats arse. i assumed it was a v8 until i saw the window sticker. 3.6L. gutless lol. but for a v6 to move this turd around and still average 20mpg..... not bad. Intierior is meh. my truck is a big horn and feels like its loaded compared to this. The dial shifter knob is annoying. somehow they still make it sound like it might have a v8 in it.

i need to move my 28ft enclosed this weekend that has side by sides and 4 wheelers in it. ill see how hard i laugh at that.

after putting 1000 miles on this loaner, averaging 20 mpg. however if anyone has a ram 1500 with a non turbo 3.6L v6 i will make fun of you. havnt had my truck since july 3rd and its starting to hurt my soul. even my gf was laughing cause merging onto a highway its grasping at what ever ponies it can get under the hood and eventually get up to speed where she said my other truck doesnt even have to down shift and were over 80 lol.

i miss my truck :(

The 3.6 in my 2018 wrangler is pretty anemic. I can’t imagine it in a full size 1500 truck. Like 2 girl cats trying to do the dirty, lots move of moving and not getting anywhere

what gets me, is the sticker was almost 62k. who in the hell would pay that for a big horn v6 ram lol. but im over it. i low key want to hook my 39ft toy hauler up to it and pull it up to the street and take pictures for the facebook groups and watch the want to be tow lords lose their minds.

Update. Called and said ram was ready. Bill to warranty 4k. Take it 4 miles and it sounds like a broom stick in a box fan on each shift. Cool. Pop a u and take it back. Got a new loaner. Like this one way more. V8. Loaded.

even heads up display. If i was a peasant and used a gasser id be into this :p

Gotta say, I drove a brand new Wagoneer for a work rental last week and the interior on it is a bit nicer than our Ram trucks.

I REALLY liked the flat bottom steering wheel and most of the wheel layout. Did not care for the gear limit switch location but could get used to it.

That said, the center console was pretty annoying and the center mounted rotary just wasted space.

Not really a great spot to set my phone for viewing and it kept making some of the buttons engage. The wireless charger wouldn't charge my S9, it would blink blue and charge for maybe 30 seconds, then go red. Maybe the Otterbox commuter case, but it works in my truck (though I don't use it.) The UC5 started acting weird form the get-go. First it would pause my music if I tried to view the map screen. Then a few days later it would keep dropping the phone connection and flipping out AA wireless and kept forcing the wifi back on after I would kill AA and turn off my wifi and I couldn't figure out how to disable it. I finally just turned it off and had to use a cable to get any function out of it.

P.S. That Hurrycane scoots pretty good in this thing. You would never know you're driving a straight 6 turbo. There is literally no lag.

Yea, i had one as a loaner when i first sent my truck in for diagnostics on the trans stuff. it was the hurricane turbo as well and like yours it also had the displays in the passenger dash and back seats. it was the 109k version which ever that was. i cant fathom ever wanting something like that but for the day i had it i really liked it. rode so nice. the center console controls were dumb imho. im still trying to get used to the shift knob dial thing in these 1500's. I think after years of riding 2500's and 3500's as dailys anything rides like a dream compared lol

I dunno, ive never owned a trim level over a 1500 so when i get in these high end vehicles im often wow'd by it but i just dont really want this stuff. all my rams have been big horns and with my current truck ive added everything i want in it and im happy there. the dealer was confused by my radio as its bigger then what is in the new trucks and has all this fancy stuff so they were asking me about it yesterday. I do know i want the black 20 inch wheels for my ram. but a used set around me people want a fortune for them.

Update as of last night. Called dealer and was told they are replacing entire trans now. transmission is shot apparently. they were going to go with a reman however none in ram's inventory so now a brand new one is on order.

so hopefully this ordeal is wrapped up soon. i have a trip with the camper planned at the end of august and would much like to be able to make it as i missed the one this month already.

stardate august 20th. Transmission has not showed up as of yet. 2-5 days for it to arrive has now turned into 20 days.

im about to miss my second trip to NY. im on the verge of just going up, and buying a 3500 long bed but i really don't want to do that.

Well Friday they said trans was out for delivery however as of today still hasn't shown up. Almost 2 months with out my truck. This sucks

Yes, it does suck. But thank God you we're still under warranty. Make sure when it's all done that they start the new transmission warranty that day - in writing.

so what i have been told is i get 2 years 24000 mile warranty on anything replaced. since its the entire trans, thats good. however 24000 miles is like 8 months if that for me lol. This loaner ive put 4k on and the other loaner i put 2500 on haha.

that said, i need to move my camper. its 10k empty and its not fully empty, and the tongue weight is insane. we may be testing this 1500 out on how well it can move it out of my driveway soon. i will be nice and move my 2 generators and 3 4 wheelers out of the back of it first.
