OEM Upfitter Switches on 2023 2500 Limited w Reverse Trailer Steering???

My wife accused me of having a streak of dyslexia, confusing my rights from my lefts, so any little cheat I can get I will take.

Put your hand at the bottom of the steering wheel. Which ever way you swing your hand is the way the back of your trailer is going to go. Easy as pie

The current trailer knob and switches occupy the space where the option and AUX switches install and as AH64ID indicated, will always have at least one option button.

There is no Aux switch cluster option that includes the trailer steering.
Agreed, but are the functionality and wiring harnesses still installed, just unused? That’s the question I am trying to get answered.

Likely not, as it hasn’t been on previous years.

Forgetting about switch placement for the moment, are the harnesses still in there and is the programability still in the system? Where would I look for either to confirm?
At one point, I remember seeing an option to add the Aux switches wiring with the towing technology plus package at no charge.
Open the hood, and look in the aux fuse box that is between the driver side battery and firewall. Are there only 3 relays, and 3 fuses, or is the aux fuse box full of relays and fuses?

Oh, gee, no one EVER told me that before

You said you'd take any cheat you could get. You didnt say which ones you already knew of so i offered up a cheat. If you really dont want the help then dont waste peoples time asking for it.

He actually never asked for help with backing trailers. He specifically asked about aux switches, and instead got a bunch of people wondering why someone would want two phone mounts and trailer steering.
Without owing an explanation to anybody, he STATED that he’d take any cheat he can get, referring to the trailer steering feature.

Apologies, I misread, "Forgetting about switch placement for the moment," I see what you're after.

Sidebars happen often, I was curious why he felt the need for the phone holder. I’ve seen them for sale, but not be utilized on the trucks with wireless car play.

Just part of forum life.

And yet there are a more than a couple of YT vids with guys retroactively installing the switches in post-'19 models, using the existing harnesses and then flashing the system to add the appropriate sales code to activate the switch functionality.

For example:

Calm down Francis, the OP was about aux switches, not whether I am dyslexic and know how to steer with hand at 6:00. What you offered was so basic as to be mockable, apologies if you were offended by my snark.

Some people jump into the middle of threads, without benefit of reading the long OP, and assume they know what is being discussed. I have no problem with that.

But when I might have said I will take any cheat I can get, after admitting to having some towing experience, someone suggesting 6:00 is not exactly offering something new or an actual "cheat".

But that's cool, we all have a role to play on forums. Thanks for making the accurate observations.

No offense taken and no issue with that sidebar. I posted the photo showing the Bulletpoint grid system so fair question.

Over 20+ years, multiple vehicles and everything from flip phones to palm pilots to six vintages of iPhones, I have used every imaginable vehicle mount. Dash mounted magnet balls, vent mounted, suction cups, etc. Everyone has its pros and cons.

As I said, it is all about how you use your phone and how you use CarPlay or Android phone. I might be a Luddite in how I use CarPlay as I don't want to use any apps on the truck's screen other than Waze. Messages, email, music I want driven off the phone, which is why I want it in my face, rather than somewhere else, even the charging station down below. And, as it pains me to admit that I break some laws or common sense, I often have YT videos on where I am listening to the audio as background noise while driving.

I had never used the Bulletpoint system before but my bro in law has it in his Jeep and I often admired it. Their grid system bases work in trucks with some sort of pocket up on the top of the dash, and even some that don't have such. The bases are truck specific and the top grid is generic, and that is where you mount the balls. The system is rock solid when tightened up and it the best system I have ever used.

I have two iPhones, personal and work and the 2-phone ability of this CarPlay version is very interesting to me. When I am alone, the two are mounted in the two mounts I showed. However, when my wife will be onboard, she gets the starboard mount.

I just ordered a third ball mount base for the middle. The Airstream comes with a wireless camera that is mounted up on the top of the back end of the trailer, providing a view directly behind the trailer both for driving as well as when parking. I plan to mount that display right in the middle of the outside mounts. The Voyager unit has a snap-on rear bracket with a 20mm ball on it which will fit perfectly with the Bulletpoint arm.

I am a lifelong gadget guy, sorry....

This video was not adding aux switches, but wiring the factory equipped switches. He opens discussing ordering with the aux switches.

There is no existing harness there are a few threads here about adding the aux switches. If you have the diesel you get the PDC for the switches but no wiring you have to do all of that yourself. The switch bar will plug in and you can flash to make the switch buttons function but you need to create your own harness

I don't know, at this point I am leaning toward AuxBeam panel but I am not crazy.

Mopar sells the switch panel and PDC for trucks without. That open square below is for the trailer brake squeeze switches.

Amazon sells a wiring kit for the switches.

Apologies about posting the "wrong" video above, I was in a hurry. In this one, guy starts with a switch-less 3500 and installs the switch module shown above. Not in my truck's configuration of course.

Thats a 4th gen and you can put the switch panel in and buy the PDC ( you already have it because you have a diesel and the electric cabin heater fuses and relays are in the same PDC) but you have to make your own harness and that harness kit you posted is for adding things to the switches to utilize them not to install them. Thats the same kit you get when you buy the truck with the switches already

This has been covered before the aftermarket companies like auxbeam, spod and switch pros are the go to for adding switches if you don't have them

Reverse trailer steering is a thing??!! They might as well call it the "cheating knob"!!! Please immediately surrender your man card! ;) :p
That is what they said about automatic transmissions and power brakes.

Bulletpoint mounts are great, I have a loaded Limited 3500 and still put my phones in them…
