OEM Bed light kit programming

I have a ‘23 Bighorn that did not come with the factory bed lights. My uncle just traded in his ‘22 and purchased a bed light kit from infotainment that he never installed. He gave me the light kit and obd genie module to put on my truck, but I guess he either didn’t get the bypass module or he misplaced it. Either way, I was wondering if the amazon $20 12+8 sgw bypass cable would do the same thing as the $50 obd genie bypass module? I’m just wondering if anyone has done this or has heard of someone doing it?

Get the koadtech bypass cable it’s easier
The 12+8 cable has to be installed behind the cluster I believe
