I was wondering if anyone has installed the OEM Puck System in there truck themselves? Mine did not come with it but just ordered it and will be installing and was wondering if anyone had any tips on it?
Thanks

Seems kinda counterproductive to add after the fact. I would probably have went with a standard 5th wheel hitch mount or gooseneck turn over ball. I assume you will have to drill your own holes in bed as well. Be careful, go slow. Start hole saw in reverse to score the metal(after you already have a pilot hole), then put in forward and tread lightly, if it catches, it will jerk the drill hard.

Was not fun. Ended up taking to dealer. You require a hitch to locate the 4 sockets

There's a u tube video on it I saw a while back. I agree with others, if it was mine, I believe I'd take it in. At least if something gets screwed up an isn't right, that's on them. If it's a 2500 I believe you can do it with the bed on but if its a 3500 the bed has to come off.

If that was all parts an labor than I would say, that was $$$$$$$ well spent

800 for just instal sounds high to me. The parts sell for around 400, then 800 on top of that. And if your like me you probably all ready have a regular style fifth wheel hitch on the 2 rails, so then uou will also have to purchase the fifth puck hitch or the puck legs an convert head over. $$$$$$ Is stacking up. The only reason I went WITH the puck system on the new build was because it was very affordable at 450 msrp so 420 retail for parts an labor.

I bought the puck system from Moparonlineparts.com for $255 shipped. I just purchased a 5th wheel so I'm starting fresh, I'm getting the B&W Companion hitch.

Thats a sweet hitch. That was the one I liked the best, definitely the beafiest. 80 lbs heavier than the mopar version. I went with the 30 k mopar because it was rated for 5 k more than the companion, but I don't see how because it doesn't look as solid.

I haven't installed a Mopar puck system, but i did self-install a B&W turn-over ball hitch in my GMC. Installs like that are not terribly hard, but you had better triple check your measurements. It's pretty nerve-wracking to take a 4" hole saw to the bed of a $75k truck. :)

Thats exactly right, i couldn't do it. They say the single goose ball is a pretty straight forward instal as you don't have to remove bed;but where it gets difficult an time consuming is the 4 or 5 hole system required the bed to come off an exact precision between all holes is critical. I would think you almost have to have a template.

The parts from Mopar come with a drawing but not a template The complete kit comes in 2 separate items. One is fifth wheel and the other is gooseneck. Each one is just under $300 in Canada. Dealer install was 9 hours labour

I installed both the B&W turnover ball and the OEM puck system in my 2019 Ram 3500. I have the Ramboxs so it wasn't a option for the truck. It took about 2 hours start to finish. You have remove your spear tire and tire heat shield. You also have loosen your truck bed bolts jack/lift it up to put the puck between the bed and frame. As for cutting the holes, the one for the ball was simple. The for the puck system were not that bad. Even if you are off some the hole covers hide that

Holy mackerel, are you a professional, 2 hrs is insane, it would take me longer than that to just draw out my 5 cut holes to make sure there exact. Hahaha

Well we finished the install as well, again mine is a 2019 2500. Overall it took us probably just over an hour, if we had to do another one we could probably do it under an hour. Didn't have to do anything with the box as far as loosening it, just had to take the spare tire down and four screws out of the heat shield to get it to move some. Overall pretty easy.
Thanks for every ones comments earlier.

i know the 25s are much easier. But still very impressive . Id would measure an recheck those hole drawing for hours. Lol
