My OBDLink MX+ does not have any latching ability to keep it in my OBD port. I am concerned that I might bump it and cause it to fall out and lose it as it hangs straight down.

Question do you leave your OBDLink MX+ in your OBD port all the time or do you only install it when using it?

I have my bypass cable installed in the permanently installed configuration. I wonder if installing in the temporary configuration would be a better for leaving the OBDLink MX+ installed all the time?

I left my bypass cable installed, but the OBDLink is only installed when I need it.
FWIW, I had it's (discontinued) predecessor installed in an F350. If I didn't drive around without it every once in a while I started getting all kinds of wonky warnings on the instrument cluster.

I leave my OBDLink MX+ plugged in all the time and have not had any issues. Makes it convenient if I decide I want to monitor something on a drive. Note that I currently do not use a bypass cable.

My factory OBD port has a small chunk broken off because I kicked the reader once. It now lives up under the dash.

Hello everyone! Can someone guide me about the By pass cable? What is it and where to install it? I currently have a BD installed and it has its own By pass cable but it plugs into a box that connects to the BD programmer, the idea is to buy the OBDLink MX+ to relearn the 68RFE transmission since I will change the valve body, but I want See where to connect that bypass cable so that the OBDLink MX+ can work and perform the functions correctly.. thank you for your support.. greetings!

Stickies man, you gotta check the stickies.
