OBD Jscan - Settings

I created a placeholder JScan sticky if everyone wants to start adding their Mods in there, I can then tune it up and build some summaries like we have for the AlfaOBD know DIY mods thread.

Just hadn't the time lately...

JScan Sticky

Here is the what is needed to use it on 2019 and newer HD Rams:
  1. The JScan Android app from google play store, or the iOS app from the App Store
  2. A Bluetooth interface such as OBDLink MX+ or OBDLink LX (cheaper than the MX+ if you don't need iOS support or use on Ford or GM (MX+ comes with a choice))
    • or vgate vLinker MC or MC+ works as well as the OBDLink and is half the cost.
  3. And a bypass harness to bypass the security gateway module so changes can be made:

I think you may be confusing him with dieselscout80 but hopefully with the new thread/sticky created by Brutal_HO we can all get our things sorted out. I just received my bypass cable and vLink so I will be tinkering with this over the next few days.

I have also received my bypass cable and vLink OBD. Now waiting on the Titan tank. I have searched for a video on removing the light switch so I can install the bypass but haven’t found anything that helps.

You can just pull the trim piece off. It pops off easy. I just went through all of this. Shouldn’t have waited so long.

I had success in pulling the light switch out and installing the plugs. But I didn't pull the OBD plug. I can just plug the bypass cable in and then plug the OBD reader in to the cable. When done, just unplug and put the cable up behind the steering column. Easy.

My tank gets installed next Wednesday. I have read on the forum the max liters to use when upgrading volume is 197 but my tank is 55 gallons (208 liters). I admit I haven't played around with JScan yet and not sure what number it will accept.

Exactly what I did with that end of the cable. Good luck with the tank project.

Well, the tank went in no problems. Filled it up and drove a bit and no leaks. Jumper cable and JScan worked great (with an Android phone). I tried to update the fuel volume to 208 liters but I was getting "Low" as the DTE reading so I entered in 197 liters and it's showing 760 miles to empty. Very pleased with my new tank and set up. Thanks to all who guided me. Now to figure out what else I can change in Ram.

Are you a diesel or gas guy? I’m interested in the bigger tank for my power wagon!

I did change tire size to calibrate speedometer. I had to get assistance from a Facebook group. You have to do the tire change on flat ground then run the abs full initialization (which requires the vehicle be on a level surface). My driveway is sloped so I had to set tire size back, drive to a flat parking lot then change tire size and run abs full initialization. It does work to correct the speedometer. Went from about +10mph off at 70 to +-1/2mph at 70.
