Hello I have a 2022 Ram 2500 Tradesman 6.4. I have noticed that the RPM seems to stay at 2000 or so when going 65-70. Also notice that the ECO will come on and don't see a change in RPM ebven through the Fuel economy changes? Is this normal? This is my first 2500 and my 1500 the RPM range was a little lower.

What axle ratio do you have? Could be 3.73 or 4:10s also the “ECO” wont change the RPM it disables 4 Cylinders as it goes in to MDS. Depending on the year of your 1500 you could have had 3.21, 3.55, or 3.92 axle ratio and that will change your RPMs assuming you had the 8 speed

Thank you for the quick reply I have the 3.73 I believe...

Hello again and thank you. I've noticed also that sometimes the transmission seems to "race" or whin but after a few minutes is just fine? Just did a 2500 miles road trip and no issues? Is this normal when the truck is cold or ? Thanks

How cold? It could be normal if you are below 55°F on the trans temp it will not shift past 5th gear and it wont lock the Torque converter once it hits the 55°F it will lock the TC and shift to 6th

Thank you Yes its below 55 especially now. But its when you first start off ? and then after a couple of minutes its fine? This happened when it was warmer
