I can only imagine how frustrated you are... This is why the RAM that I ordered will be sitting on the lot in 10 weeks when it shows up, I’m going to abandon the idea of owning a RAM when there is no one there to back it up... Parts availability is total BS you know damn well if Cummins is building motors to send out to Mexico there’s parts available....Gentlemen of HD-Rams,
CP4 failure resulted in 2 months of the truck sitting waiting on parts. Dealership was not an issue at all. They stated parts would take a while I knew that was out of their control. They were more than happy to tell me everything they were trying to do to expedite it. Believe me, I was at the service writers desk no less than once a week. They didn’t try and blame me or fuel issues on the failure.
I was sent to Enterprise rental for a loaner for this process. Was not given a like vehicle. First was a Jeep Wrangler, then a Ram 1500 2wd extended cab. Was not able to fulfill some plans that were made on some trips due to this.
RamCares was involved from the beginning process. I got a case manager within the first couple days and she also was trying to expedite parts. Communication from the agent was great at first but after the first month it went downhill. I explained waiting on parts this long was unacceptable and possible having to wait even longer (maybe Nov) wasn’t going to cut it. I told them to either reimburse me for payments for the two months or buy the vehicle back from me so I can purchase another one. I received a check for $250 in the mail this past Saturday. Still with no replies or explanation from RamCares as to what they are doing.
Tagging RamCares on this forum has been about the only reply I’ve gotten. Thank you Mark for your responses but I’m still getting nothing from anyone else.
I am always more than willing to do what I can from this level, I truly apologize for the frustration. Just had a chance to respond to your most recent message on this.Gentlemen of HD-Rams,

Mark, I don't want or expect a response, but as a long-time CTD owner/enthusiast, I sincerely hope these posts, and accompanying stories are being forwarded internally to engineering and management. They may be able to be "statistically satisfied" with failure rates, but the harsh reality is 30 years of Cummins powered good-will is being frittered away. Thanks for your time.I am always more than willing to do what I can from this level, I truly apologize for the frustration. Just had a chance to respond to your most recent message on this.

my truck did the same thing. 2019 bighorn. 9k miles and in my possession for only 7 months. died on a 102 degree day with my 2 babies in the truck. dodge couldnt be contacted for a tow so i had to use me AAA. took 2 months and counting to "fix" it.i still dont have it back. needs a new transmission now too. cp4 pump with out. the say they have replaced it and fuel rail and injectors. nothing about the lines or taking care of the shrapnel that went through the engine. working on starting the buyback process nowHello all! New to the group here. I moved over from 5thgenrams.com forum. I upgraded from my 2019 Ram 1500 to a 2020 Ram 2500 Mega Cab Laramie Night Edition.
I bought this truck back in July. I've traveled a fair bit and have just hit 17k miles with it. I have yet to have a minutes trouble with it until recently. Monday evening I started my truck from my remote and I could hear it start from my office. Not paying anymore attention to it, when i got outside it was not running. First thought was that I took longer than the 15 minutes. That wasn't it. I hit the remote start again as I was walking up and it wouldn't do anything but flash the signal lights. Usually, I forget that my low fuel light is on or something of the sort.
I get in the truck like normal and step on the brake and hit the button. Truck cranks over and over and won't stop. Truck does not fire off. Everything else on the truck seems fine. There is no CEL lit. No messages in the display. Fuel level is approx at 3/4. DEF level is at about the same spot.
In my head i'm thinking its fuel related. Not hearing any weird noises from under the hood while its trying to start. I think maybe it's too hot out? I'm in S Central Texas, it's 97 degrees out and 95% humidity. Truck is parked longside up against a 2-story building painted white that is radiating heat off of it. I wait a while and let it cool some and still no luck.
So i called the dealer in town (Brenham CJD) in Brenham Texas and they came after hours and towed it back to the dealership. One thing that caught my attention when the tow truck driver hooked on to it was that he hooked it from the front with the drive tires still on the ground. Not sure if the transfer case was placed in neutral and he definitely did not remove the rear driveshaft. (pic attached)
Tuesday rolls around and I have called and stopped by this dealer. The service writer said he has not heard anything from their tech's. The truck was in the service lot unlocked, hood popped, and had my amp steps unplugged.
Wednesday and still nothing. Any of you guys run into this issue? A lot of people I know personally are saying CP4 but who knows.
