I’m certain this question has been asked repeatedly, but my Google skills are lacking, and I’m getting older, so I’m reaching out here.
I have a 2024 Night Edition Cummins 2500 with a standard axle. If I had known that when I bought it, I wouldn’t have. Now, my mistake is going to cost me. I’ve built several hotrods over the years and have a well-equipped shop. However, I’ve never trusted myself to set up a rear end.
I’ve noticed several low-mileage full rear ends with limited slip and a locker on eBay. I’m not sure if they’re actually LSD and a locker, but that’s what they claim to be. I’ve also looked for aftermarket drop-in solutions, but I only see either LDS or a locker, not both, to fit my housing.
I really want both, so is there a drop-in option for the 11.5-inch differential I have, or do I need to buy the factory 2500 rear assembly?
I hope this makes sense.
