No 12v power on 7 way Trailer Plug Wiring Connector. Need Help

Mine definitely does not shut off after an hour, or overnight, or ever that I’ve noticed.

Can you do a wrote up of how you did this? It’s an excellent idea.

@MCV did you buy the truck new? Maybe a previous owner modified the 7 pin wiring? Either way you won’t get any charge from your truck with the engine off, you must have the engine running to get the voltage high enough to charge the trailer.
My thought exactly, at most you will just drain your truck batteries but it wont produce a “charge”

It's pretty simple really.

I pulled the F30 fuse for the trailer harness power pin in the main fuse box and and connected an 1/8" female spade connector to the male connector that powers the pin where the fuse was. I used 12 gauge wire to extend the reach aux switch wire since the wires in the aux switch kit aren't long enough to reach the fuse box and that matches the wire size of the of the wires in the aux switch kit. I used the blue crimp connector size since they just fit the 12 gauge wire although technically the yellow size connectors are the correct ones for 12 gauge wire. I routed the wire through a hole in the bottom of the fuse box close to the F30 fuse location which just fits a 12 gauge wire and then along the existing wiring harness to the aux switch connector. I followed the aux kit installation instructions from there. I used a 40 amp fuse in the aux fuse box for the circuit since there wasn't a 30 amp fuse available. I may replace it with a 30 amp fuse but I'm not really that concerned about it (the fuses in the aux fuse box are different from the F30 fuse).

I set the switch (aux 1 imy case) to latching, ignition, and last state.

I can take some pictures if wanted but they really wouldn't show much.
