I don’t understand how you are essentially trying to cross shop a brand new Ram with an older Defender. They are not in the same category at all.

The Defender might be more capable offroad and simpler to work on; but it will be slow, noisy, and much less comfortable on road.

Everything is compromises. Do your homework, find a balance, understand limitations.

Yeah, if he wants all that, I have a 2001 Jeep (XJ) Cherokee he can buy. It's a capable trail rig but I'll be enjoying my new PW everywhere, everytime.

How much were the lights? I got them for $1059 to my door for the pair. Should have been $1199 but they messed up and honored the price.
