Hi all,
I have a 2024 2500 with 6.4l engine... I bought this when I had a 29' bumper pull trailer but have traded for a 36' 5th wheel. I'm thinking of trading the 2500 for a 3500, but most of what I see on dealer lots have 8' beds. Is there some value to the longer bed as regards towing- other than more cargo room? I really don't need more cargo space as this will only be used for towing my 5th wheel.
Thanks in advance for any insight on this!

Personally I prefer the 8’ bed, and especially for towing a 5th wheel. It is a little more of a pain to park, but as far as towing goes, I feel it’s more stable and you don’t need a slider hitch because of back window concerns, also you still have a 6.5’ bed if you put a toolbox on it…

I’ve only towed the new trailer about fifty miles from the dealer to our campsite, and it seemed to tow fine, but I haven’t weighed the rig yet or towed in mountains. We are headed home Tuesday so I’ll stop and weigh and see if I need to trade for more truck. I tried to be careful to stay within the published limits when I chose this trailer, but I want to be sure….
