Hey all. I’ve had a Ram HD since September of 2002 when I bought my 03 Ram 2500 with the new Hemi. I still have it for now. Just turned 71,700 mostly trouble free miles and looks like new. I also had a 13 Ram 1500 as my daily when needed. It’s time to get down to one truck and that’s the 22 Ram 2500 CTD that I bought in April. So far I like it and with any luck it’ll be as good as the 03 has been. I’ve always performed my own maintenance and I’m not new to diesel but new to the Cummins.

Lots of benefits to the Gen 4.5 over the 3rd Gen. I loved my 3rd Gen, but it would be hard to go back.
Biggest thing I can say is drive it frequently, and drive it loaded as much as possible.
You’ll want to accumulate more than 3,500 miles a year on the new truck. Maintenance won’t slow down with so few miles, so you may as well enjoy the miles.

For 30 years I had a company van that although was used only for work, saved me from having to commute to work and if it fit in the van I would pick up whatever I needed while I was out and about for work. I’ve always had another truck that was used as a truck while the 03 has lead a pampered life. Now that I’m retired and there are days I go nowhere, I may put 8-10 thousand miles a year on the new truck. We currently have a Sprinter MH that we use to visit the family on the west coast and we make do some swapping around and just get a nice travel trailer and get rid of the Sprinter.
