Purchased my 23 Ram 2500 Rebel new 12 months ago. Currently has 35k miles and the dealer says I need new brakes? not sure I trust them with so many saying they are going so much further on brakes. If I do need to replace what is best. I do tow a dump trailer a few times a month. other than that, just a work truck.

Looking to upgrade tires too. any suggestions on a larger better tire that will run flush with edge of truck. Thinking of switching to 18’s

The brake pads have wear indicators on them. It’s a little v notch cut out in the center of the pad that you can see if you look through the opening in the outside of the caliper. If the notch is gone or almost gone it’s time for pads. Make sure you check both pads on each wheel.

The rotors can be measured with a caliper. The minimum thickness should be stamped on the rotor.
