I Have the 2018 Ram 2500 Tradesman 6.4L Hemi.
About to make a 800mile trip From Maryland to Tennessee pulling a 32’ pull behind 8000lbs camper. Just did a “tune” up with new spark plugs coils packs and insulator boots and K&N air filter. Fresh oil change also. Tranny has new clutch plates went with the 10pack plates after having multiple trans issues. Any tips or suggestions? Plan on of course selecting tow/haul mode running at about 65/70mph temps will be in the 90’s

Welcome! Post up some pictures of the truck. We like pictures around here. It sounds like a nice trip you have planned. Towing an 8,000-lb camper will be easy. I regularly tow 14K lbs, and the HEMI does great.

You’re probably better off ditching that k&n with a paper factory filter. Has the rear end been serviced at all? But other than that enjoy your trip!

I will post some pictures during coffee in the morning hopefully!

The rear end has had a fluid change 12,000miles ago. I just installed the k&n filter…what’s the issues over paper?

Welcome to the forum. Your 2500 Tradesman will have no problem with that travel trailer.
I’m now 320miles into my 756mile trip. Truck has handled everything thrown at it superb so far. 65-70mph currently 9.7mpg handled Virginia mountains great. Temps running right where they should. Next up the climb of the Tennessee mountains

They tend to let more dirt past when clean, also oil/dust makes its way past the filter coating intake sensors. For old 70s era gas hog V8s they probably don’t make much of a difference and that’s when they became popular, but with modern paper filtration media they have no place on newer vehicles. The stock air box and filter will outflow what the engine calls for.
