New tires

I have a customer with a tremor 250 and it came stock on 285/75-18 duratracs and they look awesome. I was very happy with the duratracs I had on my smaller truck. I looked them up yesterday and was pleased to see that they’re less than $375 per tire. That may pull me away from the at3w or bfg. I may go ahead with those

This has been my experience with them noticed at 2 years from mfg date and been getting worse

Wow, that sucks. Look like they're 10 years old. I'll probably never buy any more Nittos either. Had a set of H/Ts on a strictly highway hauler and A. Poor wet traction, B. Didn't wear well on front, C. Didn't get any miles. I got what I paid for. I know different styles of the same brand can come from different mfg plants and be completely different animals but one very poor set can sure leave a bad taste in your mouth for that entire brand. If someone has good luck with their A/Ts, more power to them.

Finally got rid of the rock hard dry rotted Nittos.

I got the duratracs in the same size 285/75-18 same load 129 (4080lb @ 80)

Duratracs looked good after a lot of online comparing. They’re lighter, cheaper, taller with deeper tread depth. I got a decent deal on them for Black Friday so I went for it.

On the truck, they are quieter but AT tires get louder as they age so it’s hard to ding the nittos on that. I remember being happy with the nittos at first. But the duratracs are definitely softer which I like. I may bump up a few psi but it didn’t feel too soft even with no swaybars.

At 45 psi the tires are 3/4” taller than the outgoing nitto.

STAY AWAY FROM THEM !!! After less than 2 years are falling apart with cracks and excessive wear. Discount Tire will not replace them as a defect. I had them rotated and balanced with every oil change... figured since they were so expensive that they were an investment and had to be well maintained LOL . These are the most expensive and worst tires I have EVER had. Pieces of garbage !!!

Which tires are you talking about? If ridge grapplers, it was pretty much the same for me. Discount tire directed me to nitto and nitto never returned my calls after multiple messages. I think they put out some bad batches because mine were awful and some people swear by them. But they didn’t stand behind them so screw it

Duratracs are one of the best looking tires for these trucks IMO. My friend just put a set on his F250, look great. I have not owned them myself, but my experience with 2 other friends is great tires until you hit maybe 1/2 tread, then they get really loud, way more so than other AT's. My AT3W's have gotten a bit louder now at 1/2 tread gone, and for some reason whine for a few hundred miles after each rotation, but still pretty quiet in the cab on the highway.

The duratracs for the HD first caught my attention about a year ago when a customer of mine bought a tremor and it came with them from the factory. My nittos also started out quiet and got way louder after I rotated them after a long interval

I like the look of my Falkens, but feel like the Duratracs and Toyos have a bit better look. I also like the look of Mickey Thompsons.

Honestly I feel like balancing the desire for long life against the desire for best traction/performance/quiet ride is an exercise in frustration when running AT's. Last winter on new AT3W's I was thrilled with the snow and ice traction, really impressive both driving and plowing. I know I'm going to be less wowed this winter, I have around 27,000 miles on the tires and it's just a fact of life that with tread depth half gone and sipes not as deep and effective that winter traction suffers. I'm sure they will be more than adequate, just not that new tire amazing traction.

My buddy swears by the at3w and I haven’t read a bad review. I was going to get the falken at3w in 37 because I read they were running small, measuring 35.5 OD actual size. Eventually, I decided to stay with 285/75-18 (35.1” on paper) and the at3w were back ordered and the Goodyear had multiple rebates (instant and mail in).

I think the at3w would outperform in the snow based on reviews. The duratrac does come in a 3 peak version called the duratrac RT but it was more expensive and I live in Georgia so it’s not necessary.
