New recall 11/10/2022 for the 68RFE ** UPDATED INFO IN 1ST POST **

Stopped at my local dealer yesterday, after receiving a PHONE CALL from Stellantis - reminding me of the open recall for the Dipstick and the Relay...

Parts not available. WTF Stellantis @RamCares ? Leaving this note here, so if the truck burns down, I can remember which day to subpoena Ram's records in their system (yes, I watched the service guy look me up via VIN in their system). And I'm leaving the voicemail on my phone.

Service guy "check back in a month".

Hello,

The restrictions has been taken off on this recall, there are parts available for this recall. Should you need additional assistance, please send our team a PM. Thank you

I have been getting these constant reminders from Mopar also. And I've been on the list at our dealer for both recalls last winter for one and early spring for the other. They have not had parts available for me at least for that whole time. I think Mopar has to send out those reminders just to cover themselves legally. But it seems like there's nothing in place that forces the dealers to do the recalls if they're busy with higher paying work.
Hello,

We are sorry that you're having delays on this. The part is available. Should you need additional assistance, please send our team a PM.

Parts aren't available due to the UAW strike. I have been getting calls, emails and cards in the mail for three recalls. Seems stupid they would call/email/mail about the recalls when they know parts aren't available because of the strike.

Hello,

We are still offering this part, even with the strike going on. Should you need any assistance, please send our team a PM. Thank you

Your dealer is full of it you should call ram cares and let them force the dealers hand
I already have a case open. The case manager is not calling back and his mailbox is full. Today I called asking for a supervisor to call me back. They told me 1 to 2 business days they should call me. We shall see. If things don't change I will be buying a new truck real soon and it won't be a Ram. I like the truck and don't want to look for a new one. There have been more recalls on this truck (5 total) than I have had on every other vehicle combined I have owned in my 40+ years of driving (I tend to get a new truck every 2 to 3 years).

Had my recall of the recall done today, had the original ZA3 worthless 15" dipstick done in February. Today had the dealer install the new 44" locking dipstick, Tube and Grommet along with whatever fluid needed with the new dipstick. They were hesitant at first to install the new parts to my truck as I already had the ZA3 recall already done but when I provided them the doc about Mopar would replace the 15" with a 44" later in Q1 2023 if an owner was dissatisfied and still wanted to check there own fluid level, they caved and did the recall under warrantee as they were not sure on how to apply to the recall again.

Just checked with my dealer and there are NO parts available 10-30-23. Had to get on a list… said it would probably be months.

Been that way since August for me. Not really worried about getting it done but I would like to have a locking dipstick for the transmission so I could check the transmission fluid level.

Had the CSN done this morning. Got rid of the shorty and long sticking it now. Had to call Chrysler Customer Care and they contacted my new dealer. Signed up for the Y43 recall while I was there and cancelled my part order at the old dealership.

I have been on the list for this since Feb and before that for the heater relay. So, almost a year now. My dealer still tells me parts not available, and I will be called when they are ready for me. They won't give me specifics like are parts trickling in and they are working down the list. Or are they getting no parts. They are a huge chain of dealers so you would think they would have pull to get parts, but I guess not. If it was a critical issue, I could maybe get in at a dealer a couple of hours away who has supposedly be doing some of the recalls but so far I have not tried that.

I think you are being fertilized.

They supposedly are severely understaffed for a couple of years now and their service dept is months behind. It has been suggested that they are prioritizing higher paying work and putting of recall and warranty stuff. Who knows. I did get a shock replaced by them under warranty and that was months of a wait. When the first heater relay recall was done, the scheduled me out 3-1/2 months. I just happened to bring it in for a quick lube oil and fuel filter change the next day and they did the recall at the same time. So I do think it is a problem with this specific dealer being under staffed. Although they are not good at customer service in general anyway. If you go into their service dept nobody will even look up at you when you arrive. Walk up to one of the service writer desks and usually they still won't acknowledge you. Seems like staff there is very unhappy with lots of turnover.

You must be using my dealer. I guess the trick to getting something done is schedule a repair or service that you have to pay for. I called Chrysler Customer Care and they directed me to a willing and competent dealer. When I talked to the SM he said they had already had 12 other customers from the same dealer come over there this month and it’s only the 14th.

Maybe the same national chain of dealerships! It was also suggested to me by a local here that this particular dealer is known for putting off customers with warranty and recall work, stalling until they hopefully just go elsewhere.

Scheduled an appointment for the recall for tomorrow - for the dipstick and the grid relay.... Dealer guy just had the audacity to call me this morning and ask if I could leave the truck OVER THE WEEKEND. I told him "how bout I come in, and you just give me the parts?". No. Have the General Manager call me. @RamCares

I've been trying to get these two recalls done... since they've come out. I get robocalls from Stellantis. I get postcards and letters in the mail. But I can't get the dealer in Walla Walla Washington to do the work in a reasonable amount of time. It only bills out for 1 hour each task.. Why the everloving **** do they think keeping my truck over the weekend would ever be acceptable? **** them. Don't buy anything from these guys, and don't go there for service. https://www.cdjrofwallawalla.com/ I hope they go bankrupt.

Probably does not make you feel better, but you are not alone. Our dealer. and some others, are the same. I recently talked to a guy in the Costco parking lot about his truck and he said he has the same experience with our dealer as me. Told that parts are scarce, and he is on the list. At least Ram does not have my phone number and I only get email and snail mail notices. The dealer is understaffed, and their service schedule is full. I think this type of warranty work is at the bottom of the list. Likely they get paid less for it than customer paying work. At least these two recalls don't seem to be critical. I have disconnected the relay for over a year now so that is not an issue. And the chance of the transmission spewing fluid under normal operating seems very low. But I am a little bit of a worrier so even though I resent having felt the need to do it, long ago once I realized our dealer did not want to do the work, I paid for a simple, overpriced hack for the transmission recall. So at least if it does overflow, it should not go onto the hot engine. And getting Ram Cares to bug them is likely not a good idea with our dealer. I have heard stories from people that get upset at this dealer for one thing or another or write them a bad Google review. Apparently, they can be somewhat vindictive and make things even harder if you need to use them.
