New owner, huge regret after leaving dealership

just an update. Manager at the dealership contacted me back today, said he would make it right and get me a brake controller put in. Set up a date for next week to get it done. Maybe ill have the truck broke in by then and can start towing. Thanks everyone for all the advice
Glad to hear they did the right thing by you. Enjoy the new ride, you’ll like it.

Great news!. Happy the dealer stepped up and you don't have to sift through the various part numbers to order.

A tip on sifting through part numbers...let the parts desk do that for you. When I added trailer brake controller to a 2019 1500 there was a recall on the parts and would have been a 3 month wait from Ram. My local dealership went the ebay route with my consent and built out the kit and installed. Only difference was no Ram warranty on materials which is logical.

I installed one in my 2019 1500 ram. Was super easy to do. But I do have AlfaOBD so no need to go to the dealer to activate it. When I was buying my 2020 2500 tradesman the guy told me trailer brake controller comes standard on all HD
I can confirm that's not the case. I found plenty of 2500s without brake controllers and two mirrors.

How is a trailer brake controller not standard on a modern heavy duty truck is beyond me.

Don't entirely disagree, but there are plenty of folk that buy an HD just to put a bed camper in it so It's only a problem for the next owner.
