Morning-
I've ordered my first heavy duty and my first Ram, I'm very excited. I placed my order back in the end of June and it should be arriving this week. I messaged Ram to see about it's location last week and when we were finished the customer service gal emailed me a window sticker for my build which I was stoked to see but to my surprise there were 2 options that were included that I had not spoken to my dealer about and had not had on my build list. They were the blind-spot w/ tag trailer & cross-path detection and a trailer brake controller. I don't tow a lot and didn't need these.

My question is this. Since, I didn't order these options will the dealer work with me on a price break for them? I know it's not a lot of $$$ but it's still $1000. The salesman at my dealer sent me a build list for my approval before submitting it and these weren't included on that either. I suppose it is very dealer specific and how willing they are, just thought I would reach out to community here to get a gauge before I go start signing paperwork. TIA.

Welcome to HDRams and congrats on your truck! Hope you see it soon.

The options possibly came with one of the packages you ordered? If that's not the case, then you certainly should work with your dealer for some consideration. That said, the truck will have better resale value wiht the brake controller. IMHO, there's not many HD truck buyers that don't tow.

The blind-spot w/ tag trailer & cross-path detection also come with the L1, L2, pkg, safety pkg.
As far as the trailer brake controller, I can't see it listed as any standards to any of the pkgs but I would assume it would come standard on any 2500/3500 or HD or tow pkg, but I can't be for certain on that one. Honestly, even the 1500s should come standard with it ( imop) as now a days they can even pull a good amount.
Hold your ground at the dealership and don't let them charge you for anything that you didn't agree to .
The best part is almost here and the worst is almost over, so congrats on the build, fingers crossed it arrives to your satisfaction.
