Hello all !

I have a 2020 Cummins that is daily driven. My concern is my commute is only 5 minutes to work with no freeway driving involved .I know these engines love to be worked hard and I’m concerned about excessive soot buildup from my style of driving . Would I be better off losing some parts to reduce soot production? If so does anyone have experience with CA Tuning ? I do change my oil and fuel filters every 5,000 miles and run fuel additives as well. Just trying to keep the engine clean as possible. Am I just being paranoid?

Tuning would be great if you don’t have to deal with inspection/emissions. I don’t have experience with the co you mentioned however. Your oil and filter change frequency is excessive, factory recommends 1 year or 15k miles. You can stretch out the time frame longer last warranty if you wish.

Are you having DPF issues? Its likely no problem. My daily commute was 7 mins on the highway i never had any DPF issues before I removed my DPF

No DPF issues. I just didn’t want to cause any issues due to the fact that I wasn’t working the truck hard enough. I appreciate the feedback!

Thank you Sir ! I’ll back off on the oil changes

You can back off the fuel filter changes too and align them with your oil changes.

A used filter is actually more effective than a new filter, as long as it’s not restricting flow.
