Need help for a friend

My best friend that has a 2006 3500drw that was hit and messed up the rear axle. My question is what years will work for the axle and will a SRW work and can it be made into a DRW. He's a pastor that lives in a very small town outside Coos Bay Or.

DRW axle is wider than a SRW, so a DRW axle would be preferred or he will need spaces which aren’t a great idea on a HD truck.

Any axle 03-12 should bolt right up, maybe even 13+ too.

More than 12 will bolt straight up

I don’t know when, or if, wheel speed sensors changed so that’s something to consider as well.

Last night I found one on Ebay for him even same year same gears it's even a 2wd with 4 wheel like his. Thanx for everyone's input
