N-Fab Epyx Side Step Install Question

Installed on 2020 2500 4x4 Crew Cab. I've pulled them as far forward as I think I can, but they look too far back, like the front needs to come further forward by 2". Did I install these wrong? After install I reread all the instructions to make sure I had the brackets on the correct way, and even evaluated flipping the brackets around, but felt that would push them even further back. Any other 2020 Crew Cab owners that can share some side on shots of their Epyx steps to see if the spacing is common, or perhaps mine are not for the correct year (or incorrectly installed? Thanks!

Pics of my installation:

If you switch them side for side is there enough room for it to fit properly with the brackets slid all the way back

I may have to give that a try. The instructions specifically stated that the short end goes to the front, but they just don't look right to me.

I posted this in the wrong Fender Flares thread :

Well, got a response back on my support request:

Ian,

Thank you for your email. The steps are correct per design, if you have any further questions please ask.

Guess I'll be looking for new side steps as I really don't like how this looks.

One reason they set back a little may be to allow different molds of splash guards that can be installed. Some come aft of the wheel well about an inch from looking at some pics. I'll be installing the flat rubber flaps on mine versus the plastic molded ones.

I however, don't seen the purpose of the extension of the tubing on the aft end of the steps yet since they are only cab length steps.
