My first HD Truck

...especially with the wife wanting an RV eventually. Im also not worried about daily driving as its not uncommon my truck will sit on a battery tender for 4-6 weeks, it only turns on when im towing our toys. (Hence why im going with a hemi and not a diesel)
Sounds like ideal use case for a diesel truck.

No, i dont drive enough to have a diesel. The cost and maintenance isnt worth it for me, nor will i be pulling that much weight and i drive on all flat highways, no hills at all really. I just simply dont use the truck enough. example, my 1500 is a 2023 and i got it when they were first coming out... as of right now i just hit 12k miles on it, and it can pull everything i can do now except pull the hauler my wife wants as its at the towing limit. the 2500 is just going to pull it with much more ease, instead of me sagging, working the hell out of the motor/trans and getting thrown everywhere.

Your justification to step up to a 3/4 with 6.4 is equally as applicable for stepping up the diesel for toy hauler transport. Lower stress during recreational towing which in your use case is the #1 job for the truck.

Maintenance: I'll acknowledge that the annual fuel filter change ($120) and oil changes ($55) cost more on the diesel truck than the gas. Beyond that: brake pads, same. Trans service, same. Differential and axle services, same. Air filter, $30. CCV filter, $120 but infrequent enough to be a blip in ownership costs. Fan belt and coolant flush, same. I'm not sure what additional costly diesel maintenance the gas truck proponents are factoring into their cost/benefit calculus. They make it seem like a second mortgage.

Enjoy your truck.
