Hi guys, what are you all using for mud flaps with fender flares? To my knowledge most flaps won't work because of the flares.

I ordered the Weathertech molded flaps for the 2018 3500 . Not an exact fit, but pretty close - bolted right up with the stock bolts holding the flares.flap1.jpgflap2.jpg

I've been waiting for the 19 an 20 model weather teck to come out of the fitment stage but the plant is shut down from the pandemic. 20 3500 drw with fender trim. They have the fronts on there site but not the rear duelly yet. They gave me the part # for when they do come out of the fitment stage, but they are closed until May at least

It helps if you put your year and model in your sig or in the post asking the question. From what I understand, there's a difference between the 13-18 and 19+ models.

I'm looking at Gatorbacks, but they are dang expensive for an SRW and stupid money for a Dually.

You got that $#/+ right, there pretty though. I just can't spend that much on something that probably gonna get damaged

I used the factory Mopar mud flaps. Worked perfectly with the flares. Part #82215928AB for the front and #82215929AB for the rear.

Yea, all things considered, I'm just going to get the Mopar flaps, $105 for a set shipped from BAM.

That way when something breaks them or Rips them off you don't get your heart broken, just replace them an don't worry bought it

I'm just going with $15/$20 Mud flaps from a truck stop and cut them down in size, then cut some aluminum diamond plate or something for the bottom then river them together and be done with it. I took a set off my old 2006 Ram to use as a somewhat template.

Sometimes the cheapest ones last the longest. Had those rubber truck stops ones one my 96 ram duelly an they lasted the test of time, an that was farm time

Here are the one's I am going to model my new ones after but with tread plate aluminum and no dealer name. They aren't the rubber ones, they are the anti-sail type (won't flap in the wind). I might do something for the front as well if the back ones turn out ok.

BTW, this is my old farm truck I am trading in. I just got through cleaning it out this afternoon. I will remove the license plate once I get to the dealer.

Those things are invincible just like the old farm trucks were long before all this tech came around

Husky Liners has them for the 2020 2500/3500 with SRW and a menu selection for With/Without factory fender flares. They do NOT list any for a dually yet. They are listed for $68.80 + tax and free shipping for a set of front and rear. I saw somebody on a site a couple of weeks ago gave out a coupon code and I used it and got the set for $63.xx + tax with free shipping. Haven't put them on yet but held them up to check the fit and they fit my Laramie 2500 with fender flares. Can't remember what that coupon code was but it is either on here or the Ram 5th Gen site.

Installed my Husky Mud Flaps today. The steel clips on the rear were a PITA until I figured out I could wedge them open with a Phillips screwdriver enough to get them started.

Installed OEM front splash/ mud guards that match the rear dually ones. Helps protect against the rock chips and keeps the running boards much cleaner than before. Didn’t use the plastic rivets that came with them- I used bolts to better secure.

What did you use for bolts?

I assumed (without actually looking) these were for blind holes, is that not the case?

You use on each mudflat: 2 existing screws that are on the fender flare. The other 4 holes on the mud flap they send plastic rivets to use. I did not use the plastic rivets instead went with 1” black bolts, flat washer, lock washer and nut for each. I had the bolts in my “collection” I’ve amassed over the years. You have to drill 1/4” holes in these four holes no matter which option you use. Holes are all drilled in plastic. After installing with the bolts they are as snug as you can imagine. Very tight and secure to the wheel well and you cannot see any of the bolts. Im sure the plastic rivets work fine, but I just chose the bolts instead. A little more time consuming to install but I liked the result. I’ve used these same bolts on farm equipment I have had for years and they do not rust or corrode.

Thanks,

I read the directions, just hadn't looked at the truck where the rivets go.

I wonder if the plastic rivets prevent further damage to the lower flare lip, by breaking off, in case the flap strikes something...

I need to install mine but don't have that dumb rivet tool, which is not like a regular rivet gun.

I wonder if you can just pull them with a vise grip and they'll snap as designed.
