MTNORCA Build Thread

Also, I am not sure if he is on the forums.. I think he mentioned he was... but the guy I sold my rack to here in the springs should be creeping around here. He's got a great looking dark grey PW on 37's
There are a lot more PW owners around Colorado Springs (and Colorado in general) than just that short list. Those are just the ones from CS that I could remember that are active on here.

The key is to find me a white one without ramboxes that wants to swap beds
I have a white 20’. I am putting a flatbed on in a couple weeks and my factory bed doesn’t have ram boxes but it does have scratches/dings on it and the tailgate is trashed but I’d let it go for cheap.

VERY interested. Don’t care about tailgate, I’ll be using mine. Send me a PM and lets talk. I can handle minor damage.

What a good feeling to finally have some proper lighting on the truck. I’ve been a big baja designs fan on both my sierra and my gladiator so I am excited to have installed this kit from CJC Offroad.

Janky garage pic but hopefully a better pic soon.

Didn’t post about it here but a few weeks ago I had my muffler deleted and left the resonator on. The idle rumble is great but anything about 2k rpm sounds pretty bad.

Surprisngly, the highway drone is non existent which is likely thanks to leaving the res.

The drone at lower speeds, especially when MDS kicks on and off, is pretty bad and now I’ve got a lot of weird vibrations at certain RPM’s The MDS turning on and off sounds like the engine is broken lol

Anyways, tonight I had enough and when I got home I ordered the MBRP 4” Cat Back system.

I’ll post some pics of the install and sound clips once its installed.
I guess I am getting too old for overly loud exhausts :(

OH- AND I FOUND A BED. Its not official yet but I’ve already found a shop to do the swap and priced it out so hoping to share more soon.

I have been contemplating the MBRP exhaust also. I will be watching to see you reaction.

Sounds good I look forward to sharing! Just an FYI, its on sale right now for about 50 bucks off which isn’t much but was a nice surprise upon checkout.

I was initially, before full sending a straight pipe, going to get the MRT kit but they didn’t offer it and now they are doing some kinda weird marketing that rubbed me the wrong way. Plus MBRP was 1/3 the price.

Went ahead and added the 75th badges back on the rear door. Actually really like it like this. Keeps the badging subtle but if you know, you know!

Upcoming mods in the next few weeks:

MBRP Exhaust (if it ships soon)
Gloss black roof wrap
Few other goodies

Better shot of the baja fogs I took while out fishing yesterday.

Exhaust update #1

A month’s worth of curse words, wd-40 and these pliers and all the hangars are off the stock exhaust.

Now working on getting the system to detach as a whole

Exhaust Update #2

Stock exhaust is off.

That was doable but a lot harder than I expected. I was under there like a monkey kicking the hangers and holding the while thing up to get it off the cat pipe

Exhaust update #3

The install of the new system is much easier than taking off the old pipes. Almost done with the install. The fit is absolutely perfect and this 4” pipe looks really beefy under the truck.

Probably should wrap up in an hour and I will post a first start video and pics of the new system.

Initial impression of this kit is really good.

Exhaust Install complete

Time: ~4 Hours
Difficulty: 6/10
Tools needed:

- Size 15 Deep Socket
- Hammer
- 12” Channel Lock Pliers (don’t get smaller than a 12” set)
- WD40
- Patience

Just did a cold start and initial reaction is this is what I should have done in the first place. Tone is deep and rumbly but not overly loud. Muffler delete sounded like a dam hellcat starting.

More testing to come tonight but REALLY happy with the quality of the kit and the idle sound thus far.

Everything went on exactly as the instructions say and at no point did I scratch my head wondering what I was doing.

I know it's too late now, but a exhaust hanger removal tool can be had for like $20 and I find well worth the price of admission. I am pretty jealous you get that option for sound, not really an option for us diesel bros unless we delete and I don't wanna open up that discussion now. Looking forward to the video (mostly audio) that you post!

Surprisingly, the $9 channel lock pliers and wd-40 worked wonders. I did the see the hanger tool online but I’m big into buying tools that I will at some point use again lol

Yea, I loved my diesel truck but thats a whole different conversation lol
